With the TRE hype at its peak, Ichika Matsumoto abruptly caught my attention. As it has been a while since we gave her a shoutout on this blog, I couldn’t keep myself from reporting on her recent transfer to Moodyz. But, before that, let us skip back to the previous month, May. Ichika had just announced her graduation from 'DASS', while not a full retirement, the move gave away the hint that something was brewing underneath.

For those who’ve somehow missed her meteoric rise, Ichika burst onto the scene back in September 2019 under SOD’s youth-focused label SOD Create. With her 153 cm frame, pixie-like charm, and alluring A-cup bust, she stood out as a unique blend of schoolgirl innocence with devilish charm. Well, well, well, what do we have here? It seems like Ichika’s not the only one going through a little shake-up currently, a similar thing is happening on the other end of the spectrum with Fitch’s top-tier talents finding themselves in a similar spot!

So, the story goes like this: last month, on May 26, it turned out to be quite an interesting Sunday for fans of Rena Momozono and Mina Kitano, both exclusive actresses under the Fitch banner who dropped major career gossip, but with totally different trajectories.

Let’s start with Rena first, the curvy I-cup beauty, who has been a staple at Fitch since her debut. At the age of 29, Rena is no stranger to the JAV industry’s demands, but clearly, she’s not done shaking things up. In what might be one of the biggest headlines from the 29-year-old, Rena announced she will now be an exclusive actress for two major studios: Fitch and Madonna. That’s right! Starting next month, fans of the actress will get to witness not one, but two consecutive JAVs per month from her, splitting her time between the two powerhouse studios.

The actress took to her X to share the news with her fans earlier, "I'm now an exclusive double star for Madonna and Fitch! I'll be releasing two videos a month! Yay! Please continue to support me, the new Fitch and Madonna!"

For those who can’t get their hands on her upcoming JAV, her Madonna debut is set later for the 20th of this month under the code JUR-381, in none other than the brand’s signature “After having sex with my husband to make a baby, I always get creampied by my In-law" series (what a way to start your innings with a studio!). It seems Madonna, known for its mature-themed storylines, is embracing Rena’s almost lady-like charm and giving her the narrative depth she’s been craving for all these years. She's tossing her contracts with Fitch and Madonna to the curb and embracing a freelance role, making her the latest addition to the growing class of freelance JAV stars. It's a gutsy move, especially at a time when actresses are racing to lock down studio deals. But her fans know somehow that this is classic Mina, bold, unfiltered, and always marching to her beat.

While a series of freelance actresses have recently signed exclusive contracts, such as Waka Kisono, Hinako Mori, fans speculate that Mina moving against the tide might just breathe new life into her filmography. After all, the rigid scripts of exclusive studios had begun to stifle her fire and extinguish her hype. Now, with the recent decision, the 25-year-old powerhouse might be staging a powerful comeback.

And just when you thought the tea had been fully spilled, Riho Fujimori stirred the pot by reposting Mina’s announcement with a cryptic comment. The two actresses exchanged words that hinted at a potential collaboration. Could Riho be next to ditch her exclusivity status from her studio? Watch this space for more.

In what feels like a blink-and-you''ll-miss-it saga, Aoi Ichinose, a rookie discovered by Moodyz, has put an end to her JAV career just a year after her debut by announcing it via a tweet. On June 7, Aoi caught her fans off guard when she tweeted, “With this new work, my contract has expired and I will be retiring!! And my contract with my agency will also end. From now on, I hope to pursue my goals as a regular person. My year as an actress has been so much fun! Thank you so much to all my fans and everyone who has been involved with me!! Thank you for supporting Aoi Ichinose.”

So, this seems more of a one-off experiment. Perhaps, she was bored out of college and wanted to try something exciting like JAV, like most girls fresh off university with no intention to hold on to the profession late into their 30s.

For those who just discovered her for the first time, Aoi shook up the industry to some extent with her debut in 2024; she was the ‘girl of the hour’ for a brief period. When Yuka Hirose made her late-blooming debut in November 2019, few could have predicted that she would ride the JAV wave this far. At 40, entering an industry obsessed with youth and novelty, she brought with her something far rarer: grace, elegance, and a fierce sense of self.

Now, after nearly six illustrious years in the adult industry, the 46-year-old seems determined to step away from the spotlight, leaving behind a career that was anything but typical. In a deeply emotional YouTube video posted to her official channel, Yuka confirmed what fans had long speculated but perhaps never truly expected: her official retirement from JAV, effective August 31, 2025.

But if you think this is just another star exiting stage left, think again

When she first made her debut, clad in understated elegance and carrying the quiet confidence of someone who knew herself, Yuka was already rewriting rules for what’s considered ‘normal in JAV. While most of her colleagues from the JAV fraternity were half her age, it was her G-cup curves, mature sensuality, and composed demeanor that made her stand out

And that is how she concluded that she’ll step away from JAV, unlike running rumors that it’s because of burnout.

What makes Yuka’s retirement announcement so poignant is the way she delivered it. She could’ve subtly tweeted it or let out a studio press release, but she chose to shoot a ra,w undedited YouTube video where it was just Yuka, no filters, just her.

“I’ve loved filming. I love this industry. I love my fans. I wanted to keep going forever… but I’ve decided to step away.”

She went on to thank not just her agency, Bambi Promotion, but the actresses she’s worked alongside, especially Matsuyo-chan, who often doubled as a friend and travel buddy. But above all, she spoke directly to her fans. “I remember your faces. I remember your names. And I’ll never forget them. I’m proud that I was able to be Hirose Yuka.” This line alone was enough to break hearts across comment sections.

What made Yuka Hirose different? Maybe it was the fact that she never tried to be anyone else. She never followed trends or went out of the line to perform youthful roles. Instead, she leaned fully into her age, her elegance, her life experience, and her fans adored her all the more for it.

However, Yuka won’t vanish into thin air, as most would expect. She’s promised to continue posting on her X account, which she plans to convert into a personal blog of sorts, mainly acting like a journal of her post-JAV life, and the adventures of her beloved cat, Haru-chan.

She also teased that there are still a few unreleased works left in the pipeline and some that she might film during her time here, for fans to cherish well into the months after she’s officially retired.

In an industry like JAV or be it any entertainment industry per se, where youthful charm dominates the screens, actresses like Yuka Hirose serve as a reminder that beauty doesn’t expire at 25, that sex appeal deepens with time, and that real grace on and off camera is timeless.

It speaks volumes about her maturity, self-awareness, and quiet defiance. She dared to enter an industry late, act her age, and now, unfortunately, has her stint cut short by a serious illness.

So as August 31st approaches, we couldn’t be more grateful for the fact that we have Yuka amongst us. Now, as fans prepare to bid her goodbye by stocking up on her JAVs, 'let’s remind ourselves that she lived through every JAV.
