What is Good Performing in JAV?

No technical trade talk today. Today is about something that is less tangible and more abstract, performing. You might see us say in the blog or from others “I really liked her performance; she had a great performance in that video”. Now we’ll be tackling exactly what is performing and what makes it good? We’ll dive into what makes up a good performance with juicy examples of follow.

Now, some people say, “Who even cares about performance? All I need is a pretty face, or hot body, and for them to jump up and down while making the correct moans for me to get the job done”. I kind of understand that, but I can’t agree with it. Performance is the great equalizer; anyone can do it if they try hard enough and it makes everything better. Let’s break down JUR-298 for what I think is a great example of acting in JAV. The video stars Kanna Fuji, who is a married woman who lives with her no-good in-law. At the start, Kanna is shocked at his request, but then takes a beat as she considers it. You can see the gears turn in her head. She goes through a gauntlet of emotions: confusion that he wants her, shyness at exposing her bare body, flattery when he is so enamored with her, annoyance at his requests, pity at the sad man, and shock that this is all making her feel good. The glances she gives, her eyes darting, the little smirks on her face; they all add into her portrayal and make it more interesting for the viewer to watch. It’s the little touches that make her character come to life.

Now, to look at some more clips of nice acting. First is Hikaru Aozora in START-128, when she goes in for a kiss, it’s a reserved one, and she immediately gets embarrassed afterwards. She’s acting cute and shy, even though they just had sex, because she is beginning to see a real relationship between the two. Next is Niko Kawagoe in SNOS-050 getting all lovely dovey with someone. Look at how she plays with her fingers, cutely bounces up, and wraps her arms around him. He’s got her in her feels. Finally, a nice bit of emoting from Nanami Kawakami in BBAN-363 while she gets annoyed and jealous about another woman.

Skill is good, but you need some Passion and Enthusiasm to complement it. In PRED-485, Aika Yamagishi gives inspired head while getting face fucked.
