JAV Battle: Cheating Wife or Innocent Student?

There are many reasons and perspectives as to why people enjoy the fetishes they do. A JAV could frame the wife in question as being perfect, pure, and essentially the "perfect wife" - only for watchers to learn of her dirty little secret. Another route would involve the wife just being a complete horny slut, lustfully taking every man she can despite being married - I'd argue that this starts to enter into a different type of genre, but it still technically involves a cheating wife. The idea of a wife being so uncontrollably horny that she sleeps around does have some appeal (at least, from a fictional point of view).

And all the while, she's technically betraying her husband.

This leads into my next point: JAV that involve adulterous interactions also tend to be more heavily dramatic or story-heavy. Imagine a husband finally finding out about his beloved wife's affair, and there's a heated exchange, maybe even a threat of divorce - depending on the acting, you might be convinced you aren't watching a JAV at all! This type of fetish gives you more than just the sexual satisfaction a JAV typically offers, it can sometimes help give you a more layered experience. I'll admit that such JAV tend to be rare, but they do exist.

Of course, there are good and bad points to that. Those who prefer instant gratification might be put off by the inclusion of a long-winded story, plot, and extensive talking sequences. Japanese culture also tends to play a role in this fetish. This helps give such movies greater depth and suspense.

When it comes to the cheating wife fetish, there's all sorts of unique ways to portray an adulterous relationship, but I feel like it's limited in some ways, at least when compared to the "innocent student" fetish. For students, there's tons of different scenarios that can be used, be it having a saucy encounter in the nurse's office, or in a classroom when school has ended. I'm talking about scenarios relevant to the fetish in question of course - I don't count simply having any sort of erotic situation, tacking a student outfit onto the actress, and calling that an "innocent student" scenario.

The innocent student feels like the polar opposite of a cheating wife. Students often represent purity and nostalgia, and though it's often stylized and exaggerated in JAV, the concept is present throughout various parts of Japan's pop culture, from anime and manga to idol groups. When someone hears the word "anime", they will likely think of cute anime students with short skirts - the concept is just that well-known, even outside the world of JAV and erotica.

This is both a good and bad thing when it comes to it being a fetish in JAV. Something highly recognizable is usually more comfortable and inviting, but it also runs the risk of being boring. You see students all the time in culture, and it's especially common in JAV too, so a scenario could have a watcher feeling bored before it even really starts.

Student outfits are also recognizable and iconic. There's a significant sexual aura to them, especially when a lot of outfits are modified to have shorter skirts (sure, it's less authentic, but I think minor adjustments for the sake of sexiness is acceptable). Yes, we've seen them all thousands of times, and the uniforms all look similar in a lot of ways, but I feel there's more room to be flexible here than with the cheating wife fetish.

The innocent student is typically depicted in JAV as being inexperienced in terms of sex. Scenarios might involve themes of romance, first-time exploration, curiosity, or even vulnerability. These elements often make such JAV sweeter and more endearing, whereas cheating wife JAV scenarios could be more emotional or potentially even dramatic. Innocent students are stepping into the world of adults for the first time, a moment that watchers might sympathize with or feel nostalgic for. I would argue the innocent student fetish is probably better for newcomers to JAV as well.
