JAV Battle: A Few Long Scenes or Multiple Short Scenes?

So I believe some clarification is in order to better define what specifically I'm talking about when I mention "short scenes" and "long scenes". When it comes to longer scenes, I classify them as 25 minutes or more in a JAV, and you might see two or three in a single movie. With a long scene, watchers feel a sense of steady progression (usually), and there's time for a mood to be established. Longer scenes feel more deliberate and stay locked in one fantasy or setting, presenting one overall "idea", if you will.

Shorter scenes I classify as 24 minutes or less, and such scenes are typically more direct, capitalizing on the fetishes present for more simplistic gratification. You might see five or six short scenes in a JAV (if the movie contains only shorter scenes), and they really help to add more variety into the film, allowing the watcher to witness the actresses in a slew of different sexy situations.

That said, there is a very obvious and common downside to long scenes that fail to execute properly: they can feel as though they're dragging along way too slowly. Short scenes rarely tend to focus on immersion or deep personal connection or charm, instead they are constantly delivering ways of satiating the watcher's lust. Needless to say, sometimes a watcher just wants to get straight into something erotic and not have to wait 30+ minutes just to get to the "hot stuff" - every now and then a watcher wants something different, and shorter scenes are a great way to experience all sorts of different sex acts and scenarios. On top of that, you can even witness that entire slew of scenarios around a single actress, which is particularly enticing if you're really into that actress.

Short scenes can also feel a lot more replayable. Since each segment is self-contained and usually not that long, a watcher can just skip to the scene when they feel like watching it again and get that same level of gratification. Compare this to re-watching a longer scene, and it feels like you're entitled to watching the whole thing from start to finish just to help you establish the mood and sexual intimacy more. It can feel like a slog, and sometimes you don't want to go through all that.

Sometimes you don't want to just re-watch the entire JAV. Sometimes you just want to skip to a particularly hot part that had that great angle, or that amazing cumshot. Even if scenes are really stimulating, the constant "resets" between scenes can really break things up - just a new location in itself can completely change the vibe and mood.
