FANZA Actress Ranking 2023: The Top 200 Actresses and Videos
As the new year starts lets take a moment to look at last year in JAV with the most popular actresses and videos. FANZA the biggest storefront for JAV has quietly released their annual rankings of actresses and video titles. That means it’s time for us to see whose hot on the streets of Japan and has their undivided attention. Now, caveat, these charts aren’t the definitive guide to popularity in JAV. FANZA might be one of the biggest storefronts for JAV but there’s also SOD Prime with Soft on Demand and MGStage with Prestige plus the many physical retailer shops. It’s also mainly a domestic audience so sorry to international fans. Sources for the rankings below, Japanese IP adress needed. Now lets dive on in.

The Top Ten: The Best of the Best
Coming in first is Yua Mikami who finally nails the top spot on Fanza. It might surprise some but Yua’s never taken the top spot in all of her years active; very popular just never at the tippity-top. She got a retirement buff as well as starring in interesting titles and even leaving S1 to freelance a bit. A well-deserved end to a fruitful career with Yua earning that top spot. Her popularity has gone far beyond porn at this point. Coming in second is Saika Kawakita who misses her chance of getting the crown three years in a row. Still her popularity since returning to porn has been amazingly massive; fans have absolutely loved her three years running. Despite her choosing pretty vanilla and tame videos, moving forward I don’t see her hype train slowing down one bit. At third is Moodyz’ Mio Ishikawa aka Japan’s sweet heart entering her third year as a big star. Every year Mio’s jumped up higher and higher on the rankings. Does Saika have a challenger in 2024 we’ll have to see.
At 4 we have Kana Morisawa/Kanako Iioka whose late stage revival has been great to see. Kana was last seen in the Top 10 in 2015. Coming back 8 years later with a new face, full figured body, and more mature vibe. These last few years have been great to Kana and who doesn’t love a comeback story? After her at number 6 is the former pop star Yotsuha Kominato with interest staying strong in the celebrity actress and for good reason; she’s a solid actress. Then we have two super popular freelancers in well-rounded Non Ohana and the bottom heavy Mizuki Yayoi. Both hard workers who deserve those rankings. Non is going exclusive with Madonna while Mizuki has undergone a massive weight loss. So it’ll be interesting to see how they fare in 2024.
Finally we a pair of petites with Ichika Matsumoto at number 9 who drops down a bit. The petite princess has lost a bit of steam and it comes in just as she moves away from freelancing. Ichika’s an exclusive actress now with DAS and Hon Naka so I’d expect her to drop down more next year. Is this the end of the tiny petite’s dominant run? If so number 10 is ready to take over for her. I’m talking about Sumire Kuramoto of course; Ichika’s friend who has been picking up where she left off. A popular freelancer whose pounded the pavement looking for work an a cutie with a tiny body who likes to star in rougher and hardcore leaning videos. The clear successor to Ichika; Sumire should be set for a very eventful 2024 if she keeps up her current pace.
Numbers 11-50: Elite Talent
Going down the list we have Jun Suehiro at 11 whose a top freelancer who has used her ass and great performing to power her still budding career. After that we have Riko Hoshino of SOD. Not the most talked about but I do include her with SOD’s Big New Four alongside Yotsuha, Momona Koibuchi (#22), and Rei Kamiki (#24). A thin lady with a very cute face who does well consistently in FANZA’s rankings. She recently went viral went she put up a fan event where few showed up with many giving sympathy for the “saddest AV actress”. A little stunt that gained her a lot of attention. Then we have Momo Sakura who we can say is the most popular actress with Idea Pocket at least within JAV. Kana Momonogi their face only charted at #93. She’s never done well in these since her massive weight loss despite that her popularity outside of JAV is bigger than ever and on the level with the likes of Eimi Fukada and Yua Mikami. So while Kana’s looking outside, Momo’s the queen at Idea Pocket for now and with good reason.
Meanwhile fans are eating up Mayuki Itou and her fine figure at #14. Sumire Kurokawa and Sora Amakawa are two vets whose popularity is surging better than ever. Ria Yamate and her fantastic bust have dropped a bit, perhaps fans need more from her than just her sweet chest? Minami Aizawa with her retirement and only being active for about half a year still nets the #25 spot. Bowing out while still at her peak. We have two hardcore actresses coming in at #20 with Alice Otsu and #27 with Akari Niimura. Always nice to see the ladies who go hard get their due in the charts. My favorite Aika Yamagishi stays steady at #32 while Sakura Miura sits comfortably at #45. Coasting easily. Rounding out the Top 50 is the milfy Suzume Mino of Dahlia.
51-100: The Rest
Further down the line is Konan Koyoi at #51 which is pretty good considering the hiatus she took in the middle of the year. Konan should become a great talent over at the very competitive S1. Then we have Ena Satsuki at #51, Yui Tenma at #52, and Hinako Mori at #53. How perfect that these three are bunched up together because they are three great freelancers who may edge towards more hardcore content. All three had a great 2023 and it shows on the chart. Prestige finally gets on the list at #58 with Umi Yatsugake ahead of long time star Airi Suzumura at #67 and Remu Suzumori at #85. Umi is way too skinny for me but I can’t deny her adorable charm or that she made some solid videos last year. Moving further down how happy am I to see Mei Miyajima at #65. The SOD actress is severely underrated with her perky breasts, flat stomach, and rock hard abs. She starred in some bangers last year. I am also very happy to see Kana Mito of Madonna net the #68 spot. The tiny little milf that could gets a lot out of her unimpressive figure to become a rock solid actress. Near the end of the list we have Riri Nanatsumori at # 95 and Maki Tomoda at #96. Riri’s beautiful and unique looks have always stuck me but her lackluster performing is holding her back. Meanwhile Maki is doing quite well even at #96 when you consider that she’s been around the industry for about two decades now. One of the Milfs chosen for Madonna’s orgy spectacular and for good reason as she's been revitalized late in her career.
Still Hanging Around: Old Names of JAV
Lets dive into the older names on the list with names like Mana Sakura, Yui Hatano, Julia, and Yuu Shinoda. Mana comes in at #16 and her consistency over her 10 years plus has been amazing to see. She quietly had a great 2023 and it’s nice to see that translate on the rankings. She also published another novel last year. Meanwhile Yui Hatano had her 15th anniversary last year which she pushed hard with her titles and that netted her a great ranking at #18. After all these years with all the videos she has made she can still bring them in. Julia slides down a bit at #29, I think fans are warming off a bit at the long time Milf. Still I believe Julia has stayed within the Top 30 for every year in her career. She's doing just fine even now. Meanwhile Airi Kijima continues to baffle me with her ranking at #41. I’m a fan and I’m happy for her but I never expect her popularity to be so strong after all these years. Finally we have Yuu Shinoda at #55 who looks retired at the time of writing. Her output has slowed in recent years and she looks done at this point. A shame to see a legend bow out so quietly. We also had other long timers like Mao Hamasaki at #79, Ai Sayama at #78, and the returning Yuna Shiina at #42.
Rookies of 2023
Not many new debuts on the top 100 list. The ones I clocked were Miyu Kiyohara of S1 at #40 and Nagisa Koiki of SOD at #43. It wasn’t Ren Gojo, or Haru Minato, or Yuki Nitta, or Mitsuki Momota, or any other of the Super Busty Debuts from last year but Miyu that makes it on the top. It makes sense because she’s been around the longest of them all. She’s also a quality debut and very cute looking; one of my picks for Best Debut of 2023. Then we have Koiki Nagisa/Koio Nagisa with SOD the celebrity debut who ignited fans with her background and she can even lay claim to the most popular FANZA video in 2023. A former Takarazuka Revue which is a theater troupe that performs Western-style musicals with stories adapted from popular media. I’m not keyed into this area at all but it doesn’t seem all that popular and she wasn’t even a key performer. On top of that the Takarazuka Revue is more female fan leaning which makes this all the more puzzling and interesting. Either way Koiki has a chance of cementing a career with her eye catching start.
Names to look out for in 2024
Some names to look out for JAV fans in 2024. There’s Rima Arai at #21 who I think can become even more popular. Her super cute looks, little body, perky tits, and round ass should make her an easy crowd pleaser. Sora Amakawa is surging and I think it’ll extend well into 2024. There’s Mei Satsuki at #26 and Waka Misono #33; two ladies who do well on these rankings. I can’t say much about them, I’ve only seen them here and there in small parts, but they can make some quality smut. Then there’s Nagi Hikaru/Aka Asuka/Shiose whose gotten a nice glow up and is looking prettier than ever. For fans of wilder girls keep an eye out on Ena Satsuki, Yui Tenma, Hinako Mori. Finally there’s Erika Ozaki who I’m pleasantly surprised to see on the list. She’s a cutie with a fantastic ass for her size. A small timer whose working nicely under the radar.
Outside the Top 100
Some notable names not in the Top 100 include Miru, AIKA, Yuna Ogura, Ai Hongo/Yume Nikaido, Unpai, Aika Yumeno, Mina Kitano, Hana Himesaki, and Sumire Mizukawa to name a few. Such a shame to see Miru only at #125, she’s an incredible performer who gives it her all in her scenes. As for AIKA at #178 she’s an older name now and gals have always had a niche appeal. She was also missing from last year’s ranking top 100. Mina Kitano and Hana Himesaki ranked relatively low at #106 and #107 respectively. Both ranked highly before but as I don’t follow them I can’t say to why as to their big drops. Both should chart well. Sumire Mizukawa isn’t on here but that is to be expected as she spent a large part of her year globe trotting while working with adult studios abroad.
Ai Hongo/Yume Nikaido only makes it to #140 which may have to do with the fact that she missed a large part of the year when switching studios. Now that she’s with S1 I think she has a chance to reach a wider audience. Speaking of switching things up there was Karen Kaede/Lemon Tanaka. Her drop down to #162 on the list was no surprise as Karen started the year re-debuting as Lemon Tanaka then left to come back as Karen. Still her titles did well and I believe that if Karen can string together a stable year that she could chart within the Top 30. Fans love her but she just needs to be consistent.
Making in the Top 200 is a nice achievement; they are still ahead of hundreds of other actresses. So it’s nice to see Yuki Takeuchi at #104, the hardcore Uni Shiokawa at #105, and Rena Momozono at #134. Some nice newbies are slowly climbing the charts like Honoka Furukawa at #118, Chiharu Mitsuha at #149, and Mitsuha Ashitaba at #169. I do wish Jun Kasui was doing better than #173. Entirely absent on the list is Eimi Fukada which is actually understandable as she wasn’t every active in JAV and hasn’t been as much in recent years. Porn seems to be a secondary priority to her now with her more focused on her entertainment and business ventures. Rara Kudo is also absent on the list which I can’t explain.
Best Selling Titles
FANZA also released the top video titles of 2023. The top 10 was littered with the usual suspects like Yua, Saika, and Yotsuha. Karen Kaede also makes an appearance with her return title as Lemon Tanaka with Faleno at #10. The biggest outliers was Erena the debut from Hong Kong with the #7 spot but even bigger was Koiki Nagisa. Koiki’s debut title nabbed the top spot at #1 with fans keying in droves to check out the former Takarazuka theater performer. Even beating out S1’s unofficial Beauty Venus spinoff with Yua, Minami, and Arina at #2. The actual Beauty Venus 8 with Karen Yuzuriha, Mayuki, and Momo got the #28 spot. Speaking of group sex titles; Madonna’s anniversary orgy celebration netted the #25 spot which is quite impressive when you consider that it was only on sale at the end of the year.
Throughout the top 100 S1 dominates the list mainly thanks to Yua and Saika. After that SOD and Moodyz appear the most with spot appearances by Idea Pocket and Madonna. SOD new big four with Yotsuha, Riko, Rei, and Momona taking many of their spots with a Mana Sakura popping up. Quite an impressive showing by them considering this is a rival platform. The top debuts outside of Koiki and Erena were Maaya Irita of Faleno, Haru Shibasaki of SOD, Mitsuki Momota or Moodyz, Sayaka Nito of S1, Mami Mashiro of Faleno, and Ruu Totsuka of SOD. Debuts are always so popular with fans itching to see what newbie is entering JAV.
2023 Report
Overall not many surprises on the list. A few glaring omissions and snubs but overall I expected to see a lot of these names and many of them deserved to be on it. Actresses that worked hard or made great videos last year all got their due. Using the list as a means of finding quality JAV actresses wouldn’t be too bad a method at all. Looking at the list as a whole it trends on the newer side of talent with actresses with about 1-4 years under their belt over older 5 plus year vets. Still it’s quite impressive to see long time names not just on the list but holding onto their popularity strong.
