I don’t remember the last time I covered Asahi Mizuno, but this month, she was on our radar because of a particular tweet.

Now, if you’ve followed her long enough, you’ll know she isn’t the type to do things for clout, right? In fact, she’s been almost ghost-like lately with no updates about her whereabouts. So imagine my surprise when she made a tweet in what felt like forever.

“It’s not just a temporary thing; I want to open a real Mizunoya,” and for a moment, it did feel like forever.

And if you don’t feel a little jolt reading that, then you probably weren’t around the first time Mizunoya existed.

Because, for those who remember, “Mizunoya” was literally Asahi’s brainchild. A diner that operated entirely on reservation-only terms, opening its doors only when someone sought it out. It felt less like a restaurant and more like a cosy hangout spot between Mizuno and her loyal fans.

Then, just as discreetly as it appeared… it was gone.

I remember when Asahi had stepped away from the industry for a brief while; she had wrapped up the Mizunoya operations with her. And as her focus drifted toward nail art and a more low-key life, the diner slowly faded into memory, something fans spoke about from memory.

Until this month. Asahi surprisingly revealed, “I want to open a real Mizunoya.” A real one.

I’ll admit, I didn’t expect her to bring it back. Not after all this time. And yet here we are, with Asahi casually reopening the doors of a diner most of us assumed had been permanently shut.

While some fans are busy reminiscing about reservation-only dinners and the possibility of sitting across from Mizuno once again, others are asking a very different question: Is she already working somewhere else?

For the unversed, Asahi was a regular roster at the once-infamous adult entertainment establishment “Tora no Ana.”

Mina even took to X afterward, posting: “With my role model, Yuri Honma-san!”

And Yuri wasn’t the one to hold back after the filming had wrapped up.

“It’s been a really long time since I’ve done a lesbian scene,” she shared, before adding a line that felt almost poetic: “What I love about women is that there are no ‘turn-off’ moments it just feels good and keeps going forever.”

She admitted she was “surprised and delighted” to be chosen, Mina. And for a moment, it feels like a full-circle moment, the admirer meets the admired, the student meets the master.

But then, out of nowhere, Yuri confessed something that fans didn’t expect this early. “I plan to marry a man and retire… so this will be my very last lesbian work.”

Honestly, I had to read that twice.
