Lately, the JAV industry seems washed up & exhausted. We've got one worrying update.

Surprisingly, we’ve seen Kiho Kanematsu on this blog for the first time in a long time.

So, Kiho had recently posted a few pics, and when I saw them, I was genuinely shocked. How could her face be so visibly swollen? Kiho looked nothing like herself.

According to Kiho, everything started shortly after a Cheki meet-and-greet event with fans. She suddenly developed angioedema, sialadenitis, and nasopharyngitis all at once. “My face is still swollen, my throat still hurts, but I'm feeling much better now,” she wrote.

Kiho also revealed that she had already been compelled to cancel a scheduled shoot because of her condition, and that was kinda emotional blow for her.

She admitted she couldn't even bring herself to post online for a while. But one sentence immediately stood out to me. “I absolutely want to go to TRE.”

At that point, I had one question in mind: would she recover in time? Apparently, Kiho spent the following days resting at home, taking medication, and resting as much as possible. Thankfully, her condition gradually improved.

Within a few days, she confirmed she would be coming to Taiwan after all.

Honestly, that must have been a huge relief… not just for fans, but for everyone involved with the event. But surprisingly, that wasn't the end of the story because almost as soon as she announced she'd attend TRE, criticism started appearing online.

Some fans questioned why she was healthy enough to travel to Taiwan after canceling a filming schedule in Japan.

Kiho addressed the comments almost immediately. She explained that when filming was originally scheduled, her condition was at its worst and her face was severely swollen.

Her throat hurt so badly she could barely speak; simply put, she wasn't physically capable of filming. TRE, however, was several days later. By then, after medication and plenty of rest, she had recovered enough to travel. Honestly, that explanation makes a lot more sense when you look at the timeline.

She confirmed she would be coming to Taiwan after all.

What surprised me most, though, was what she said next. Kiho emphasized that she doesn't rank one job above another. Whether it's filming, fan events, or appearances overseas, she approaches every opportunity with the same level of commitment.

She apologized for confusing fans but admitted she was already devastated about having to cancel filming in the first place… the last thing she wanted was to disappoint fans a second time by missing TRE as well. I believe her.

Because if you've followed Kiho for any length of time, she has a reputation for throwing herself into every project she takes on.

Which is why this situation feels more unfortunate than controversial. It also reminds you how difficult life has become for actresses today. They don't just have to stay healthy. They have to constantly manage perception as well.

Fortunately, Kiho will be in Taiwan after all. And judging from how determined she sounded throughout this entire ordeal, I have a feeling she wasn't about to miss TRE unless she absolutely had no other choice.

Remember a while back when we talked about Ai Mukai pulling off from new releases?

At the time, the reason she gave was surprisingly simple: she didn't have an agency. I remember thinking how unfortunate that must’ve been for her because it never felt like Ai wanted to retire in the first place.

She simply found herself in an awkward position in which, without agency representation, opportunities in the JAV industry became increasingly difficult to secure.

Months went by with no new productions or comeback announcement. The radio silence was evident from her.

Well, the silence has finally come to an end. After an eight-month hiatus, Ai Mukai has officially found a new agency, which raises the obvious question… which agency managed to sign her ultimately? It is B-Dash.

If you've followed our blog for a while, you'll probably recognize the name. They represent established actresses like Waka Misono, and honestly, I think Aoi landed in a very good place. B-DASH has clearly been successful in the past with landing gigs for their talents. Take, for example, people often point to Waka Misono. From everything that's been shared publicly, she decides for herself which projects she wants to accept, and if she turns something down, management respects that decision instead of pushing back.

Honestly, that kind of relationship is becoming increasingly rare in today’s JAV market. So while B-Dash may not be the largest agency in the business, I don't think size is really what matters here. Finding the right fit matters far more.

And judging by how quickly things moved afterward, Ai clearly didn't waste any time. Immediately after joining, she revealed she was back on set filming again. Maybe she was simply excited, or she wanted to reassure fans that everything was finally moving forward.

And the best part about it is something I think many fans will be happy to hear. She's reportedly returning as an exclusive actress for TAMEIKE.

Based on the industry's usual production schedule, fans probably won't have to wait too much longer. If everything goes according to plan, Ai Mukai's long-awaited JAV comeback should arrive by the end of this year.
