Are JAV Obsessed with "First Time" Themes? Part 2

Needless to say, while the "first time" theme is a popular one and has many positive aspects, there's not a whole lot one can do with it. Every time you get the same awkward moments, her first time seeing a penis, stroking it for the first time, along with shyness and the nervous smile/laughter. Eventually you'll start wishing she'd just hurry up already. You could argue that maybe you could stretch the formula to "first time" with something else - like a woman's first time doing anal or a first time giving oral. That does give a little more variety and leeway, but like I said before, it's just the same reactions, hesitancy, and formula. There might be some variations based on the fetish involved, but it's really just the same idea over and over again. Compare this to something like bikinis or onsens, I believe those types of fetishes/themes have a lot more to work with and less of a chance of becoming stale.

Another aspect of virgin-type JAV is that it requires the actress to "not be as skilled", or at least, to not carry out any sex act with any particular skill. After all, if she were vacuum deep-throating a guy at a fast pace with little issue, watchers would be a lot less convinced that she's a virgin - something like that requires not only experience but a great deal of skill.

Due to this limitation, some of these JAV end up having content that just isn't very entertaining. Yes, it fits the theme that the actress isn't particularly "good" at what she's doing, and that she's shy and hesitant, and while that has it's good points, it often just leaves watchers staring at a poorly performed blowjob for 10+ minutes.

The problem is that this "lack of skill" isn’t always portrayed in a way that feels natural or engaging - it just ends up being slow, awkward, and dragged out. There’s a difference between inexperience that feels genuine and inexperience that feels like the scene has no energy, and some of these JAV fall into the second category. Obviously, it also limits what an actress can actually do in a scene, even if she's a revered actress capable of delivering a top tier performance, and that can make the entire scene feel restrained in a bad way.

Believe it or not, these types of JAV can also be easy to mess up. When the execution falters, the movie stops feeling believable and ends up feeling a lot more staged and manufactured, which lessens the appeal. A scene might be trying to emphasize the woman's lack of knowledge when it comes to sex and pleasuring a man, but her performance and reactions don't quite line up, making things feel less genuine. The actress might be initially hesitant then be too comfortable the next moment, making for an unnatural scene and breaking the illusion.

It could be easy for an actress to overact as well, as the woman could act in way too exaggerated of a manner. Being over-the-top and exaggerated reactions might be a part of Japanese comedy and culture, but it doesn't mesh well when it comes to the "first time" genre of JAV. A massive part of its appeal is believability and relatability, and unrealistic reactions and actions can easily take a person out of it.

This was a bit hard to decide on, but I think probably not. The whole virgin/first time fetish is used a lot in JAV and it's coveted because of its allure and purity, but I feel like it's not overly abundant. Compare this to say cheating scenarios or teacher-student scenarios - those are way more common than first time fetish JAV. Movies about newly-wed couples or debut JAV often make use of the "first time" theme, but I've personally found them to not be that abundant.

Let's look at the flip-side though - what about JAV where the actress has had relations with multiple men? Very "loose" women who have multiple partners or who've had multiple husbands/partners in the past. Women who are "easy" or highly experienced is also a theme that's explored often in JAV, and that's a whole other fetish with its own great strengths and weaknesses.

I do think virginity is overvalued however - it's a good thing for sure as it implies that the woman has had little sexual experimentation, and it makes the watcher feel as if they could fill that hole in her life that she's missing. That said, it's not like a woman with sexual experience can't be entertaining, or that she necessarily isn't pure.

Experience doesn’t automatically take away from appeal, but when it comes to sex and romance, humans obsess over being a person's "one and only" in every aspect, when they don't have to be, and your romance/sex can be just as strong as a result. What do you guys think?
