Mai Nanashima Goes Through Major Surgery To Get Rid Of Her Sweaty Palms
There are certain tweets that make you pause, not because they’re clout-farming but because that particular individual wants to reveal just how much weight they have been carrying behind the scenes.
That’s exactly what Mai Nanashima shared once she had undergone surgery.
At first glance, the tweet might feel like any regular ranting, but only when you dig in do you find it more revealing than usual.
Mai, in her tweet, revealed that she wasn’t battling a major illness. But she finally took action against something that had been shadowing her for years, and funnily enough, they seemed to be her sweaty palms.
And if you’ve accidentally bumped into her during those fan meet & greet events, you’d have never guessed just how much this one condition has affected her daily life.
When I finished reading her tweet, my first thought was as simple as it comes: She’s really been through a lot.
実はずっと「多汗症」に悩んでました。

自分より汗かきな人に出会ったことがないくらいで、2月でもパケ撮影中にクーラーつけたり、冬でも小型の扇風機を持ち歩いたりするくらい。… pic.twitter.com/MERpF5of8E
Because this isn’t only limited to a passive discomfort but a rather commonly ingrained insecurity that decides how she interacts with the world. Mai herself didn’t sugarcoat it.
Her palm sweating, she explained, was so intense that even during winter shoots, she had to keep the air conditioning running while filming JAVs. And it is as if she always carried portable fans with her every time she stepped outside. It wasn’t even an option.
And this part of her confession is almost heartbreaking. She recalled an incident from elementary school while touching the hand of a boy she liked, only for him to end up disgusted by her gesture.
Even now, as a renowned figure whose career entirely depends on connecting with her fans, that memory hasn’t fully let go.
Because if you’ve been part of a fan event. You are aware that handshakes and light physical touches are very common during such events, but for Mai, those are no less than anxious moments for her.
She admitted that she often avoided handshakes with fans and even worried that a simple handshake might make someone uncomfortable. And for someone who genuinely enjoys meeting fans, that’s a heavy burden to carry.
So she did what many wouldn’t dare to do. Mai thought she had had enough and took a surgical route.
After trying everything from antiperspirants to Botox with little success, Mai decided to undergo a procedure to stop the sweating in her hands. She first operated on her left hand, and now, her right.
While she had it operated on successfully, the surgery comes with a trade-off. Mai openly acknowledged the risk of compensatory sweating in her tweet. A condition where, once the hands stop sweating, other parts of the body pick up the slack. Back, chest, thighs… in some cases, it can mean changing clothes multiple times a day.
And yet, she still went through with it. Why? Because this wasn’t just about comfort. It was about confidence. About finally being able to meet fans without hesitation. And if you ask me, that says a lot about the kind of person she is.
However, she’s not alone in this. Ema Yano, who recently made headlines for switching agencies and releasing recent JAVs under Madonna’s label, has also undergone the same procedure. Yano revealed that while her hand sweating improved significantly, she’s spent the last five years managing compensatory sweating, sometimes needing to prepare extra clothing daily.
So, there’s a lesson in there for Mai as well.
In An Attempt To Go Through A Major Overhaul, Tameike Goro Resurrects Rena Kodama

Did you guys happen to catch the newly rebranded studio Tameike Goro? Let me tell you, the visual change didn’t go down well with the ZENRA insiders.
But that led me to go through their freshly minted website just to see the kind of actresses they’ve recruited after the overhaul. And my eyes rested on one such particular actress.
A “newcomer” named Rei Saegusa.
On paper, she sounds almost too understated to headline the studio. For the unversed, she happens to be 31 years old, married, soft-spoken, the kind of woman you’d expect to shy away from the spotlight. The studio even leans into that image, presenting her as reserved, almost delicate. But here’s where things get interesting.
Because, according to her studio Tameike, that exterior image is deceiving
Behind it lies what they describe as a “mutturi,” a term often used in Japan for someone who appears modest but harbors a deeply passionate, hidden side. And judging by how heavily the studio is emphasizing that contrast, it’s clearly the hook they want fans to latch onto.
Tameike’s marketing team didn’t hold back in their praise either, calling her “truly erotic” and highlighting her expressive reactions and natural on-screen presence. Add to that her tall, slender frame and E-cup figure, and it’s easy to see why she’s been placed right at the top of their promotional lineup.
But as you’d scrolled through the visuals, something inevitably starts to feel… familiar.
You know that moment when a face rings a bell, but you can’t quite remember their name?
But thankfully, her two distinctive moles, one above her left breast, another on her right forearm, gave it off without much analysis.
That’s when it clicked. “Rei Saegusa” isn’t your average newcomer. She’s actually Rena Kodama, who first debuted back in 2020 under S1 No.1 Style and then took an impromptu hiatus.
And suddenly, everything starts to make sense.
Her two distinctive moles, one above her left breast, another on her right forearm looks eerily similar
The physique? Not a surprise, Ren was originally marketed with a former volleyball player image, which explains the height (168 cm) and athletic build. Her certain nuances while performing make it even less surprising. So this “discovery” is actually nothing but a carefully crafted return. But ff course, one question still lingers.
When Rena Kodama previously stepped away, she left her agency, NAX, and operated independently. Now that she’s resurfaced as Rei Saegusa, there’s one missing piece of the puzzle: who’s managing her now?.
If she’s signed to a new agency, this could signal a serious, long-term comeback. If she’s still freelancing, it might just be a strategic, short-term reappearance… perhaps testing the waters.
For now, though, Tameike has done exactly what it set out to do. It gave us a new face pertaining to its new identity. Unfortunately for them, her identity is no longer a secret.
