Panking's 2025 JAV Retrospective: Top 5 Worst Videos of the Year

Can't have the good without the bad am I right? Just as there were plenty of quality releases from this year there were also many colossal duds that completely missed the mark. That's what I'm here to talk about with this post. I'll go over my picks for the five worst JAV films of the year. What can land a video on this list? It can be many things such as bad lighting, dull plot, weak action, lousy performance, or just all of these into one. So join me as I take a look at what is best left behind in 2025.

This may be a slightly hot take but I think anal in JAV is 95% of the time, just awful. This film is a prime example of that. It's Mina Kitano's first anal experience on camera. You see these types of films all the time and they're all the damn same. I'll never understand how some fans hype up an actress doing anal for the first time like it's some triumphant event when the execution is always agonizingly boring. For starters, the first half hour is just Mina by herself at home lightly lubing up her asshole and prepping it. Wow how riveting. It's then followed by some dull toy use as an actor fondles her asshole...yawn.

There's no actual sex until nearly an hour in. And even then, it's not that great as the intensity is usually on the lighter side. Okay well maybe it'll ramp up as the film goes on? Nope. Instead, it's back to some more anal toy use both by herself and with an actor. We do end things with a decent threesome at the end featuring a bit of DP but it's not enough to salvage the entire film. I'll give Mina some credit in that unlike other actresses, Mina hangs in there pretty well. But it's still woefully paced and just flat out painfully dull. Unless you are some anal-obsessed goon hound, it's a giant waste of time.

I love Noa Haruna but this film(and series) is just complete garbage. This is a long-running series from Oppai, for what reason I don't know. The premise is pretty ludicrous with it centering around Noa receiving a number of stimulating breast massages that ultimately lead to a ton of squirting and sex of course. I just find this setup to be so dull. The constant focus on titty play via an assortment of toys and hands-on fondling gets very repetitive. Not to mention it results in some extremely over the top squirting. However, this is all likely fake sadly. Sure the effect can still be nice at times but knowing it's fake just ruins it.

Another grating issue with this film is the lousy lighting. It doesn't look too bad in the last scene but everywhere else it's just awful. It's way too damn bright and overly saturated. This type of lighting just does not work with thicker body types. The action isn't much to write home about either. The two sex scenes are fine at best but suffer from the over the top toy use and titty play that gets very annoying. Besides that we get a piss poor tittyfuck that just ends with the guy lightly fucking her tits while Noa is completely submissive. This series needs to be put into the ground but Oppai has made this one of their flagships for whatever reason. No surprise why this studio is in the gutter...

What do you get when you combine Taku with a terribly dull theme? You get the second-worst video of the year. Okay so the theme itself isn't that bad as it centers around sex education with a group of budding male actors as they hope to improve their skills. Sounds like a potentially decent idea on paper but the execution is as interesting as watching paint dry. For one thing, the film is an exhausting 230 minutes. It doesn't help that the film is just flat out boring, especially worse if you don't understand Japanese. The entire first hour is just Nao, the amateur actors and Taku in a classroom going over some charts and demonstrating some foreplay on a sex toy. It's then followed by a sex scene with Taku and an amateur as he shows them the ropes as he fucks Nao.

We then go back to the classroom for another hour of charts, more foreplay tutorials, and a forgettable blowjob/handjob scene. This is followed by an admittedly decent sex scene but it's too little too late. There's another major issue I have with this and if you know me, you can likely guess what that is. Yes it's Taku. He's a main presence for the majority of the film and resorts to his usual shtick. I know some don't mind this but I can't stand it. It's a massive turn-off. Couple this with some lackluster, stale lighting and you've got a real dud. If you can understand Japanese, you may get a little more value out of this. But even, it's still extremely bland. If you need some help catching Z's, just put this on.

JOI(jerk off instructions) is really not my cup of tea when it comes to JAV. This mostly comes down to the language barrier. It's hard to enjoy when you can't understand any of the dirty talk, which is the entire point of the theme. As such, this film was not it for me. The whole concept is just Aya playing with herself while coaching you on jerking off. Now I will say the variety of outfits isn't too bad with her sporting a few nice outfits such as a schoolgirl uniform and doctor's coat. And the lighting is decent across the board as well. However, my biggest issue with the film is by far the dismal action, or lack there of.

The film is 140 minutes long with just ONE single sex scene. The only other scene with an actor is a scene where a guy jerks off while Aya coaches him on. And he then just cums on the floor...that's it.

Now the sex scene itself isn't bad but it's not enough to salvage the film. The rest is just solo masturbation play and teasing with Aya. Sure it's nice watching her get undressed and show off her booty but it doesn't go anywhere at all. This is clearly for a very specific set of fans that really love the concept of JOI. If you don't then you'll be bored to tears.

Not only is this confidently the worst video of the year, it's also a contender for worst of ALL-TIME. It's almost impressive at just how awful it is at every turn. It all starts with an unappealing setup of her going to some grungy warehouse to get fucked over and over, leading to a gangbang in the finale. This theme isn't my cup of tea and it's made worse by Hikaru's understandably terrible performance. She basically just goes through the motions putting in barely any effort. She just lays there looking dazed and barely moves at all. The action is just as awful. Sure it features a couple sex scenes which sounds nice on paper but the execution is abysmal. The first two only feature missionary with some very brief cowgirl and prone bone.

The gangbang at the end isn't horrible, and I appreciate that all the cumshots appear to be real. But that's about all the positives that I can. One of the most frustrating aspects is that you rarely get to see her tits throughout the entire film. She spends most of the time clothed, which isn't always a bad thing, but the outfits really aren't that sexy. And even when you do get to see them, the actors are constantly grabbing all over them, blocking your sight. Just get your grubby hands off. Imagine shooting Nagi, known for her brand new huge tits at the time, and thinking "Let's just hide them". Couple this with some bad lighting and wonky color grading, and you've got a colossal disaster. I can't even say "at least her tits look nice" because YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE THEM!
