A Showa Drama from a new series from GMA starring the stellar Ai Mukai.

The Talent

Ai Mukai was one of my favorite actresses of 2021. Her slightly mature looks, pleasing face, intimate performing, subtly darker skin tone, and sweet slender body; made her like catnip for me. An interesting actress who is really good at giving tender and intimate performances. At her best when giving herself into scenes fully. A good actress to boot, she is really compelling when given the right role and video. She slowed down a bit on the releases to close out last year and to start off this year. But now it looks like she is ramping back up her releases and ready to pound out more videos for our viewing pleasure.

The Title

Our video is courtesy of studio GMA (Global Media Entertainment) in a Showa Drama. The video is part of a new series from GMA under the JUE code line. The series is new but is quite well made with a larger emphasis on plot, drama, and the costumes in particular. From the talent to the male talent everyone has appropriate and fitting wear with makeup and styling to match. Outside of the historical drama type videos they also started off with Ninja titles funny enough. Our title puts Ai in a period drama set during the Showa war era.

 A common subgenre on Japanese fiction and seen sporadically in JAV. Complete with older outfits and hairstyles; Ai looks so fine in the older style. The mature style fits her so well and has been kind to her career as of recent. Here she is a somber woman trying to survive during the war while pinning for her absent lover. The title starts with a steamy tryst between the two, some smaller scenes outdoor, a little bathroom fun, and finally a long cheating sex scene with her in law.

I really liked the outdoor scenes and wished they had more of it with full scenes. We only get small little short montages, foreplay, and some blow jobs while outside. The forest they shot in is beautiful and makes for a nice backdrop. Outside of that the scenarios are pretty tame and disappointing especially the finale which is a cheating sex scene for little reason. For a title and series banking on plot and scenario it fails to do much to make it exciting. There is some sex of goods plot with Ai pleasuring some soldiers with her body but it doesn’t do much with that scenario. As a drama title this fails to bring much drama or enticement.

The Sex

The sex is a mixed bag too. It starts out with a steamy encounter between Ai and her lover. The two bunk off for some last time nookie, a farewell fucking until who knows when they will meet again. The best scene of the video and best fitting for Ai’s talents. The sex is sensual, intimate, and warm. Well lit with Ai’s hair looking so fine all pulled back in an older style. Their old style clothes slowing being striped off as the action ramps up. Easily the best of the title and I wish we got more of it or at least in that quality.

Aside from that there are the outdoor scenes which don’t last long enough. There is also a pretty titillating (pun intended) bathroom scene. In its Ai is taking a bath as she gets all horned up with memories of the earlier scene. Her starts to play with herself and her breasts. Putting her nipples through her fingers and squeezing them, so good. Ai really knows how to get her nips hard how she likes it. A short and little fun appetizer. To cap things off we get a long scene with her cheating on her lover with her in law. Kind of a boring scenario and with little build up. It does feature the world’s most uncomfortable looking dildo. Some old sex toy made from a bygone era.

The Verdict

Overall I was a bit disappointed by the video. It’s not bad really just okay. For a title focusing on plot and drama it gave not nearly enough of either. It also defaults into some cheating sex in the ending with little effect. The opening, outdoor segments, and the bathroom scene save the title from being a dud. Overall I would have to give this title a 7/10, Ai saves this uninspired title. Ai the type of actress that can be fantastic with the right title behind her and middling when they can’t do right by her. The title is recommended for Ai Mukai fans (my people) or fans of these historical drama videos. It’s not great but worth a passing fancy. Regardless I’m still excited to see what my favorite actress of 2021 gets up to in 2022. She’s getting more popular and works with all sorts of studios big and small and niche too.
