JAV Sales Report - March 2026
Welcome to the March sales report. Let's go see how this month turned out, shall we?
Top Actresses
Yuka seems to be chugging along quite nicely, already on her second film for Rebecca. Don’t quote me on how the best actresses do with Rebecca, I can only tell you that Julia gets a film every year but most do not. Okay fine, I went looking at some examples of a few getting many repeats. Karen Yuzuriha is at 5 but debuted in 2021, Tsumugi Akari is a 2017 debut at 8, miru is a 2018 debut with 7, Ichika is 2019 with 6, Non Ohana is 2021 with 4. That’s all to say that most of the time actresses don’t get to 1 per year levels, it’s usually less. There are also some double up cases, Karen had two in 2023, and her last film with them was just four months ago so they’re definitely enjoying her. But enough about Rebecca because this is Yuka’s spotlight and I’m glad she’s still doing well. She had some agency issues (at least I think that’s what it was) and she’s still doing well enough at Madonna, so here’s to more of this cute, fox-faced MILF.
Emika Shirakami is a very interesting case for me. She does seem to be outshined by a lot of others at S1, and true to that there are a handful of actresses from them above her on the list. But what’s actually the interesting part, and perhaps also the reason why she is lower in general, is that they focus so heavily on schoolgirl themes for her. Look, I’m not opposed to finding something that works and running with it, but the amount of schoolgirl films she has is kind of crazy. Like it’s just one after another with them for some reason, instead finding ways to make you happy she has another rather than something different. I mean I get it, she has that cute schoolgirl look, but at some point maybe cut back just a little. I will say though, knee high socks for her in VR does look quite tempting, and I’m going to choose to believe this is what got everyone interested if even I’m interested.
The long awaited Moodyz Bus Tour finally dropped and obviously a lot of actresses are having spikes this month (on both physical and digital), like Miyu Aizawa, Nao Satsuki, Mina Kitano, Konatsu Kashiwagi, Yui Hatano, Iyo Shinohara, Ichika Matsumoto and Yuika Onosaka. It’s perhaps more interesting to see which actresses didn’t breach the top 25 in all of this - Kanae Yumemi, Aki Sasaki, Toa Kiyomiya, and Yuri Oshikawa, for example. You’d think a lot of these actresses would have done well, they’re long time favourites or just generally actresses you’d think people would enjoy. Like why Yuika and not Toa? Why Iyo and not Kanae? Seems like there’s no rhyme or reason to why but at least it gives a lot of actresses a good spotlight, as you’ll see more later on.
Did I miss when Namanama started doing VR? For those of you that are out of the loop, Namanama is one of the rare studios that does real creampies. They tend not to do VR (the answer was January this year and it’s their fourth) and they tend not to get popular actresses. Looking at the last dozen even I don’t recognize most of them which is evidence enough when I recognize most names at this point. I’m still a bit surprised I didn’t realize they were doing VR given I have a friend that goes crazy for their stuff but hey, hats off to them for bagging Jun in VR and here’s hoping that they will do more good stuff.
Do you ever wonder if Rima is propping up Kira Kira? They’ve never been a particularly good studio but they’ve been at some low points recently. They’ve managed to get a few actresses here and there in the doors but that’s more one-off videos and nothing consistent. Rima is the one consistent name for them and it’s at least keeping the studio from going extinct. They definitely have an interesting theme for their studio but it seems like maybe it’s not that popular. I could totally see that being the case, I understand where Rima not even being full gal works well for them. Like be honest with yourself, you’ve got AIKA and Alice Otsu, who is the third best gal? Maybe Hana Kurosaki or Moka Haruhi? Feels like relatively slim pickings and I can understand why they’re not in good shape.
Yuka is up quite a few spots this month although her costar Nanami is not. It’s very interesting when you get such obvious things like this showing you that one actress is more popular than the other as a whole. Like clearly this is going to make up the bulk of the numbers for both of them so it’s just interesting to see that Yuka is more popular. I guess I’m not exactly surprised looking at the cover, Yuka looks nicer physically in every way to me and I guess the crowd agrees with me on that one.

Iroha Hakata is doing nicely for herself, charting alongside Kanna Seto as a new debut for S1. The front cover maybe makes it a little hard to tell but she has I cup boobs and comes from gravure. She’s no Kanna Seto I will tell you that but any kind of busty debut at a tier 1 studio is worth keeping an eye on.
Kanon Hayasaka is also way up this month. I find it extremely interesting that Iroha has a standard and Blu-ray DVD above Kanon but if you look on the physical sales graphic Kanon did better overall. Turns out that having one extra film is that important. I know some of you are sitting there saying duh but debut films sell like you wouldn’t believe and clearly people are still grabbing hers but also grabbing the new stuff too. It’s also a very interesting comparison because they’re both I cup debuts at S1, the busty but not omega busty kind, so they compare to each other extremely well. I think Kanon looks better in my eyes as well but we’ll have to see when debut season comes around.
Iyo Shinohara’s second film of all things is way up top this month. I would never in a million years have guessed this would be there, and the only thing I can surmise is that there’s an influx from fans due to the Moodyz Bus Tour film. I can reasonably go down a path of assuming many of those typical fans are not Madonna fans and Iyo is just not for them at all, so when they saw it and saw she was good they decided to watch her. Why this film I have no idea, maybe the cover just looks nice, but very interesting nonetheless.
I find this video interesting because Miyo Hirose, perhaps better known under her original debut name Rion Hiiragi, has had such an awful career, far worse than I would have ever guessed. I had such high praise on her debut then she takes a 9 month hiatus where we got absolutely nothing. Cool, thanks for leaving Dahlia for some low tier MILF studio stuff. I mean I’m not even excited about any of her videos these days despite how she still looks fantastic. I don’t even get it either sometimes, why isn’t she able to find something better than this? Why wouldn’t Madonna or Tameike Goro or someone pick her up? Regardless, she’s finally getting some spotlight and I can’t help but think it’s either her costar or just the fact it’s a lesbian film for her doing all the work. Neither of them are doing well outside the film so it’s basically more validation that they simply don’t sell and this is a rare exception.

Bookmate Rankings
Once again you can see the Bookmate rankings on their website here.
My chips would never have in a million years been on Nozomi Suzuki (鈴木希) to be first place on this list. She looks like any whatever S1 debut with her 87G cup boobs. Don’t get me wrong those aren’t bad but you’re talking about competing with the likes of Saika Kawakita and Kanna Seto and she’s crushing them. I’m doubtful she can keep this up but again, interesting all the same.
Maria Valentine (マリアバレンタイン) has been doing quite well for herself, more than I would have guessed. You’d think that the bimbo look isn’t very popular, and it isn’t, but it feels like the fact it’s so rare is helping her popularity. Just like how there are so few gals, it feels like there’s basically zero bimbos other than Maria so she gets such a huge unicorn buff. Case and point, she’s in a top 10 spot on Bookmate this month. I’m very surprised they aren’t using something from her social media for her profile picture as she’s very active on there. Still, it’s interesting to see how well she’s doing and we’ll have to see how long she can keep this up or if the VR film was helping her popularity. I will admit that VR for this kind of actress seems interesting and unique and maybe that’s just the name of the game as a whole that I wonder how long she can keep up that uniqueness.
Rei Kamiki (神木麗) doing well is quite the welcome surprise, not because she’s not good, she’s incredible, but we just rarely see her here. I think everyone not watching her is crazy because she’s insanely nice. She also has what looks like an absolute banger of a film next month and here’s hoping that we see more of her in future months.
Just like with Emika Shirakami earlier, Rui Shido (紫堂るい) finds herself in only videos pointing out she’s a gravure idol. At least unlike Emika’s you can do maid outfits and other things that let the videos feel different. Like this is what, this gravure idol lets you enjoy her paizuri? It’s like they think tacking on “gravure” adds bonus points. I’m not sure that it does, it almost feels like too much at this point, but I’ll be damned if it makes any difference to me because Rui looks fantastic and is great.
Yuri Adachi (安達夕莉) doing well is very interesting to me because I never expected this. I mean for starters I didn’t expect her to come back to the industry. I suppose other ventures didn’t really turn out as well as she had thought and I guess she can kind of hang? What’s interesting is that she originally debuted before S1 started getting all these omega busty actresses so she got in at the perfect time but now she seems so underwhelming compared to the rest of the roster. Maybe she has some people enjoying her from the past? It doesn’t help that it looks like she’s aged quite a bit since then, maybe even some work on her face, and that cute charm she once had is lost. Maybe it’s just some redebut hype but I don’t see Yuri being this high consistently.
Melody Hiina Marks (メロディー・雛・マークス) being this popular on Bookmate of all places is very surprising. I can understand a bit on DMM when the market is much wider but this is exclusive to domestic only. We almost never see non-Japanese doing well domestically. I was entirely correct on June not having long term potential but maybe Melody does because her body is more in line with what the domestic market values. It’s a shame Melody isn’t full time there because she could shine, but as far as I know she’s very popular in the western market and might stand to do poorly in Japan. That being said, she’s doing well even without a new release in March (this is actually a compilation) and who knows what could happen if she keeps up her Japanese lessons.
I might not understand what all the new icons on Bookmate mean just yet but I can definitely understand the legend ones next to Yumi Kazama (風間ゆみ) and Maki Tomoda (友田真希). They have two of the longest careers in the industry, well over 20 years each, and are fully deserving of those titles. Your guess is as good as mine on why Julia doesn’t (and instead has the one for increase) but Hibiki does, Hibiki does have a slightly longer career but 15+ years is still very good either way. Maybe Julia is just up a bunch of spots who knows. But going back to our stars here, it’s nice to see them still consistently doing well as I think they’re both rather nice. I’ve had times where I thought Yumi was past her prime, and perhaps she is, but I’m still enjoying watching them both.
Just like our friend Rei earlier, Suzu Honjo (本庄鈴) is another welcome surprise, not because she’s not great (she is!) but because we just rarely see her on these lists. Her video from April looks especially nice with the whole stern officer look. I have some decent faith in Suzu being able to pull it off and I did put it on my watchlist, so hopefully next month you’ll hear me singing her praises for this one.
That's all I have for this month. I found it interesting that Bookmate changed their infographics to have some new icons. Hope to see you all again, until next time!
