And Azusa Hikari happens to be that actress who recently hit that very milestone.

A few fans began speculating in the comments if Hikari was about to make a major career shift, specifically, whether she was planning to move away from being exclusive and instead turn freelance.

Not that it hasn’t become increasingly common in recent years. Freedom, flexibility, and more creative control. The appeal is obvious.

But Hikari was quick to bash those theories.

“Some people are asking if I’m releasing more JAVs because I’ve become a project-based solo actress?” she wrote in response to the speculation. “No, that’s not it at all. I only take on work as an exclusive actress.”

There you have it, or at least, that’s what most people assumed.

Because not long after her clarification, a troll popped up, accusing Hikari of something rather unexpected: looking down on project-based solo actresses.

And of course, she had to save face and bash any such assumptions,

“I’m just sticking to my own approach,” she explained. “I don’t think other actresses’ choices are wrong at all, and of course I don’t look down on them.”

Then she added, sounding genuinely puzzled by the accusation. “How exactly is that rude? If anything, I have the utmost respect for all actresses, okay? Why interpret my words as dismissing others?”

And just when you thought the situation couldn’t get any more amusing, Hikari did a little digging.

Turns out the commenter accusing her of being disrespectful wasn’t even following her!

Which prompted her to make a hilarious statement

She joked that the critic was probably just a random troll who stopped by to vent, meaning all the effort she put into explaining herself might never even be seen by the person who started the whole debate.

In other words, the troll did what they do best.

But for fans, the headline that actually matters is six years in, still exclusive, still releasing new titles, and possibly more of them than before.

In the video, Kawagoe can be seen moving through the setup with the kind of confidence that only comes from serious training at a culinary school, working with ingredients & wine reductions, plating dishes with a steady hand. The finishing touch with a delicate sprinkle of shredded lemon rind gave the final dish that unmistakable chef’s kiss.

If you were in my place, you’d gasp these words too. Wait… she can actually cook?

Well, the influencer who covered the event had this to say,

“I was so impressed by Kawagoe Nico that I was given the special opportunity to cover an event where she was serving food to her fans,” he wrote alongside the viral reel, introducing her to his massive audience as someone who works both as an adult film actress and an active chef.

Before entering the adult industry, Kawagoe was working at a hotel restaurant, slowly climbing the ladder of professional kitchens. In her first year, she was already selected to join the main kitchen team, not at all a small achievement in such a competitive environment. By her second year, she was chosen to help launch a brand-new restaurant location.

But despite the promising trajectory, something about the path ahead didn’t feel right to her,

“I could see what the end of my life was,” she explained.

And so she took a leap that few would dare: she stepped into the adult industry instead. Still, it seems the chef inside her never really left.

In fact, Kawagoe has openly shared that one of her long-term dreams is to open her own restaurant someday, a place where she can finally showcase her culinary skills to her audience.

The viral reel clearly meant a lot to her. After Joker Gourmet’s video took off online, Niko reposted it, feeling overwhelmed.

“I’ve never had such a wonderful opportunity!” she wrote. “I feel like I’ve been recognized, even just a little, as a chef.” And perhaps that’s the real story here.
