What is better than one star but two? Akiho had her fair share of star team-ups with actresses like the former Race Queen Saki Kozai or with Jessica Kizaki in a crossover with Idea Pocket. However, the biggest and best of them came from her collaborations with fellow S1 star Yuma Asami. Yuma was a massive star in her own right, and these two joined arms right around the height of their peaks. The two would become the best of friends and also shared the spotlight in three titles together.

Now for an even bigger team-up with most of S1’s roster at the time in these two blockbuster titles. S1 came out with a couple of group titles featuring their large roster today, and those don’t even compare to these old ones. Shot in 2010, the two-part series is set in a meta entertainment setting about a broadcast station called S1 TV, where the anchors and staff are all JAV actresses. The sequel, The Underground Channel, is more POV and orgy focused with just one man for the harem theme. But it’s the daytime version that really shines.

A curious one and not a star team up, as the cover suggests it is with Mihiro. While Mihiro does have a cameo, she doesn’t get into the action at all. This title is a Travel video covering Acky’s trip abroad to Asia and Europe. Going to places such as Hong Kong, Macau, Prague, Brussels, and Grasse while chocolate tasting, perfume making, and eating local delicacies. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Acky gets to taste the local talent in bed. An interesting footnote in her career that seems more like subsidized traveling.

Can any old manga/anime fans recognize the cover this video is parodying? If not, the punny title “Maison Akiho” should lead you to the original, as this is a parody of Maison Ikkoku, a popular romantic comedy series from the late 1980s by the legendary mangaka Rumiko Takahashi. It was a series that actually costarred Rio/Tina Yuzuki too. Now no longer available on any JAV storefronts that I could find, most likely nuked by its publisher far before Acky’s retirement. There’s a reason we don’t see too many manga adaptations. A shame.

Speaking of old titles lost to time, there is this historical drama miniseries that seems to be gone. Featuring Akiho and a large host of older actresses such as Anri Mizuna and Mihiro. How unfortunate that it has become lost to time, because it looked like MAX-A spared no expense in making these. The large casts, the kimonos, the makeup, and the setting all looked beautiful and well done.

Acky gets to play the delinquent; a hard talking, mannerless, bitchy no-good hoodlum. This is always a fun role to see and doubly so when it’s with a well-known actress who rarely gets to play meaner crasser roles. Sadly, her delinquent character is on the back foot, with the sex being much more submissive. I would’ve preferred for her to be in charge, but she still keeps the haughty attitude throughout the video.

Tanned is a theme we don’t see too often nowadays with actresses sadly, as the Gal theme’s popularity shrinks and skin lightening becoming all the rage. Saying all of that, I wasn’t digging Acky’s tan in this too much. It didn’t seem to fit her or look well done. However, it’s still nice to see in her massive catalog, and when you go as long as she did, you want to see variety and experimentation.

This is an odd title about Acky playing a seemingly cold and emotionless housekeeper who won’t say no to her employees and will do anything for them. It’s actually a video that spoofs a real drama called I'm Mita, Your Housekeeper. A highly rated TV show from 2011 about an emotionless and stoic housekeeper.

Twink and Acky are two words I never thought I would see in a sentence together, let alone in a JAV. Acky goes tomboy in this crossdressing drama from MAXING. If I have the plot right, the story has her dressing up as a guy to join an all-male school to be with her love interest. Being a porno, it ends up with a whole lot of guy’s wanting to get into her guy pants.

Compilation Galore

Even after retiring, Akiho’s catalog didn’t stop being notable as the videos kept coming out with compilations. Now compilations are standard practice, but MAXING took it a step further for their long-time exclusive, as they gave Acky a whopping 13 special compilation series after her retirement that lasted about a year after she bowed out. Taking the best from her over decade long career while giving them a snazzy and colorful set of DVD covers, I might add.

Costume Odds and Ends

Now for more odds and ends.
