For some, "normal" romantic relationships just don't do it. Mind you, I'm not going to turn a review for the 22nd (!) iteration of FIRST TIME LESBIANS SECRET HOT SPRINGS VACATION RETURNS into a long-form thought experiment of heteronormative (or not) dating, but given the key ingredient in this long-running series by GOGOS is hyper reality, we should address the fact that what goes on here or in any of the almost two dozen movies that proceeded it is both "abnormal" and beautiful. Two female friends connecting, agreeing to go on a day trip, seeing the sights, eating the...uh, eats, and then arriving at a decked out ryokan where conversations go from banal to deeply personal and clothing goes from jackets to lighter wear and soon enough, bathtime where real confessions and play begins.

The above summarizes not just the 22nd update in this amazing lesbian JAV series that keeps on giving, but pretty much all of them. What keeps them fresh, as always, is the casting. This time, we've Tamaki- and Otoha-chan, ages 25 and 21 respectively. The age gap leads to the classic 'onseesan'/senpai type of Japanese relationship where the younger leans on the older for guidance and support. Here, zeroing in more, the gist involves both meeting at a used book store where they bonded over liking the same manga author. Could it be that they both are fans of the yuri genre...?

And on that note, 'yuri' may be the most ideal way to describe this entire series. In fact, going by how search is not coming up with anything of note, I must apologize several dozen movies in (if we count the proto-series) for only now finally stating the obvious: yuri love, JAV form. The women, the bonding, the reality, the consummation.

On one hand, these movies always are going to be hits or not hits based on one's tastes. Thus, I will not pad a review talking about Otoha and Tamaki beyond noting the basics above. Per the pacing, this is back on track. The previous one almost had too much talking and if memory serves me right, it may have been almost 50% talking, 50% "intimacy". Here we're back to the more normal 40/60 so yes, expect a lot of introspective dialog, but that's what makes these types of movies all the better; it's not only about seeing two Japanese women "lez" out, after all!
