Before we even get into the review for this movie unlike no other, allow me to note that this is an update like no other. For VERY long term ZENRA users, you may be wondering “didn’t you show this movie before?” The answer: YES. So what’s going on? Are we...gosh forbid RECYCLING updates? The answer: forgive me, but it’s for a good reason. I HAVE SEX IN FRONT OF ALL MY FRIENDS is a truly unique update and it was one of the first we ever showed when we started subtitling well over a decade ago when the price of eggs today was not equivalent to what the price of a refrigerator was then. Thus, the translation job was rough and visually, it was an old SD release from well over 20 years (!) ago. Just how sometimes bands with lengthy discographies may sometimes go back and re-record (or at least remaster) older material that may not have received the proper mix they always wanted, we’re making an exception with this movie via our much enhanced modern subtitling standards and a remastering job from the master tape. We DO NOT plan to make this a common occurrence; as of writing this, we have no plans to do any more re-releasing, but there may be a handful of SOD movies that…

The theme and the title unite. What we get is as far as I can tell the real deal: three JAV stars, three groups of friends. The million dollar question is not just queried by this prolix reviewer, the fans watching, but even the director who makes it clear towards the end, that yes, these really are their friends. But is that the truth? It may be odd before going into the movie itself to talk about this, but the question is paramount and needs proper addressing: do we have real friends watching one of their own (albeit with a now known JAV career!) engage in "work relations" in front of their eyes? Or are these extras? Nowadays, the answer is (almost certainly) sadly obvious. But back then during the crazier days of JAV--what I have been calling the Golden Age, the era that I peg as beginning in the late 90's and concluding around 2007'ish (at most)--most anything was possible. Fact: each scene has a different group of friends. Fact: even me, someone who has been working in JAV for decades cannot pinpoint any "oh, I've seen that person before!" moments alludes to these if not being "friends", certainly being some type of real element. Your call, but I'll go with real friends.

The flow: a beauty of Golden Age JAV is these are movies that have not succumbed to "scene creep". The downside: almost manic editing where at times angles could have been remained in play longer. Bigger downside: no real standout moments. Each of the three initial scenes start almost mid-dialog. It would have been nice to see each actress embarrassingly walk past her friends before beginning. But what can ya do?

Continuing with the flow: interviews of an embarrassing nature; where this movie shines! But things get better when we get masturbation leading to audacious sex. Yes, it's obvious the ones having the sex are actors--they're introduced as such and should be familiar faces to many JAV fans (at least one is still active, Narusawa!). If anything, the sex really improves in the two follow-up scenes where instead of the friends watching from afar, we get a more mutual and cozy affair that almost has them taking part (as pillows and the like though in the latter of the two scenes, one gives the most vigorous handjob I've ever seen!).

I HAVE SEX IN FRONT OF ALL MY FRIENDS is a BULLITT movie like no other. This was filmed some years before HOT ENTERTAINMENT acquired them in one of those unusual yet always welcome JAV Land parallel transitions. They were a studio I really wish was brought back as their movies really were a grab bag of wildness with today's update being one I can truly and most definitely call "breakthrough". If we ever got something like this again from any studio, it'd be a blessing. Even if it was plants, the basic theme is one that can never get old as there's truly nothing as embarrassing as coming out to your friends as a JAV star and immediately begin masturbating in front of them (followed by the wild sex and facials!).
