Nanami Kodama Bids FINAL Goodbye To S1!

Catch up on the most trending gossip that we had our eyes on in September

A few of you might’ve noticed that Nanami Kodama is nowhere to be seen from S1’s late-November release lineup.

It seems the actress is up to something & she revealed it in an earlier announcement.

Nanami was quite candid while revealing that “I’ve graduated from S1, and from now on I’ll be working as a freelance actress. I look forward to your continued support!”

So, that’s it, readers. The latest gossip in JAV town is that Nanami Kodama’s exclusive contract with S1 has ended! What does that mean for her fans? Instead of being tied to an exclusive contract, she’ll be able to work with different production companies and take on a wider variety of projects.

For the unversed, S1 invested heavily in Nanami after her signing, so that might seem disheartening, but with the new arrangement, we could see her releasing titles for a much wider range of studios. Mostly big names.

Her latest release, A Miracle That Happened Through Sugar Daddy Dating!, may well be her final outing for S1.

For some fans, this is disappointing to hear. When she first debuted under the name Nanami Ogura, S1 gave her considerable attention. She had the looks, the promotion, and the kind of initial momentum that made fans wonder whether she could eventually become one of the studio’s flagship actresses, and she did to some extent.

But why leave now? Nothing surprising. Since her return, her Twitter activity has sometimes prompted concern, and people have commented on changes in her appearance. But those observations don’t establish why her exclusive contract ended, and we shouldn’t assume that the studio compelled her out.

In fact, if we look back at the timeline, there’s likely a possible explanation behind it.

Nanami returned to S1 in April 2024, and she has now spent roughly two and a half years there during the final spell of her career. Considering her earlier work under a different stage name, her overall relationship with the studio has been even longer. That’s a substantial run.

You know exclusive contracts can involve lengthy commitments, and renewing one requires negotiations between the actress, her agency, and the studio. The fact that Nanami remained with S1 for this long suggests the arrangement continued to work for both sides at least until recently, and according to her announcement, she wants to explore more diverse roles and expand her opportunities. That makes her latest choice understandable.

Given the momentum she had, I genuinely thought she might stay with S1 for much longer. But perhaps that’s exactly what she wants. In this stage of her career, she tends towards more freedom to work with other studios, experiment with different roles, and build a career on her own terms. And with the name she carries, I doubt she’ll struggle to attract interest.

Her time at S1 may be over, but her career finally got the breathing space it needed. Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing what she does next.
