Nanami Matsumoto & SamoarI Collab For A First Of Its Kind AV, As She Debuts On MyFans
You all know how Nanami Matsumoto left her agency and announced she was going freelance, right? Fans have been eagerly waiting for her next move!
Perhaps a new agency or a major studio would sweeten the deal.
Well, it turns out that she is up to something even more interesting. In a recent tweet that surprised most fans, she announced that she has officially joined myfans as an independent creator.
By joining myfans, Nanami is signaling that she has stepped outside the traditional JAV system altogether. It signals that from now on, Nanami is effectively her own boss.
Honestly, when I first saw the tweet, I assumed she had quietly hopped agencies behind the scenes. After all, she spent nine years operating within the industry’s established structure. That’s not something most people walk away from lightly.

But apparently, Nanami had had enough. And now she’s teamed up with renowned JAV director Samoari.
Now, Samoari has been in the news lately for the recent rise of independently produced “doujin-style” content. Together, the two reportedly traveled back to Nanami’s hometown of Hiroshima, where she reunited with “K-kun,” described as the ace player from her high school soccer club.
From there, the project unfolds in exactly the intimate, nostalgic style you’d expect from a Samoari production.
And the best thing? It feels extremely familiar, and for a moment, you don’t think it’s filmed in a traditional JAV setting

Nanami Matsumoto’s move mirrors the shift we’ve already seen among names like Rina Usami. Actresses who have proven that they’re no longer bound to JAV to film & produce adult content. And that matters.
For years, actresses have quietly complained about how profits are divided between agencies, production companies, and distribution platforms. Now, some of them are realizing they may not need those systems at all.
And if established names like Nanami can successfully monetize direct-to-fan production independently, it’s a welcome change. And we’ve seen that in the past with Sumire Mizukawa. And that could seriously disrupt the industry’s power balance.
Especially because Nanami isn’t some newcomer experimenting recklessly. She has spent a considerable amount of time with a building audience and enough experience to understand exactly what she’s walking away from.
As for Samoari, this move makes perfect sense, too. He’s openly talked before about targeting overseas audiences in the past and elevating independent productions with stronger cinematic quality. But interestingly, despite the shift toward self-produced content, he still appears committed to staying within certain production boundaries rather than going fully uncensored.
And right now, Nanami Matsumoto may be standing at the center of a transition that’s becoming harder and harder to ignore. And if it works. A lot more actresses may decide they no longer need the traditional gatekeepers at all.
Mayu Horisawa Indefinitely Quits JAV, To Continue Pursuing Non-Core Activities
Honestly, I didn’t see this coming.
And this week, that moment belongs to Miyu Horisawa.
This comes after a whopping four and a half years in the industry following her debut with Faleno. It was only this month that Miyu quietly announced that she’s stepping away from filming JAVs entirely.
And reading her statement, I assume even her fans would have it hard to process. “I’ve decided to quit this line of work,” she wrote plainly, before reflecting on the years since her debut.
“I really enjoyed it, getting to travel to so many places and meet so many fans… those moments were like treasures to me.” That line lingered with me because it didn’t sound performative.
And then came the confession that made the whole announcement feel painfully human: “To be honest, I wanted to work even harder, and I indeed wanted to become famous. But reality and ideals are two different things.”
Ah, so she ultimately came to this realisation. It’s something most JAV actresses would agree to, but rarely say out loud so directly.
And perhaps that’s why her decision sounds so conflicted. “Honestly, I don’t know if this is the right decision.”
But instead of staying trapped in that uncertainty, Miyu seems determined to move anyway. “That’s exactly why I want to move forward… without any regrets.”
And interestingly, despite announcing her exit, she doesn’t sound like someone disappearing completely. In fact, quite the opposite. Miyu revealed that friends inside the AV industry have already been teasing her about a possible comeback. “You’ve lost about 10 kg since your last shoot, and your vibe is totally different. You should make a comeback!”
But Miyu quickly laughed it off herself. “If I did that, I’d be jumping the gun a bit too much. Haha.” So here’s the thing: she may be leaving JAV work, but she’s not ditching life.
Photo sessions will continue. Fan events will continue. Most importantly, she will continue. “I’ll continue as Mayu, so please continue to support me!”
For now, she might be quitting JAV, but she has repositioned herself completely.
And perhaps the most revealing part of her statement was this quiet observation: “There are things I can do while I’m with an agency, and things I can do now that I’m freelance.”
Maybe that’s why she keeps asking fans to view her departure “not as something negative, but as something positive.”
Because in her mind, this may not be a collapse at all. It may simply be a pivot. Especially when the person leaving still sounds like someone who hasn’t entirely closed the door behind her.
