Former JAV Actress Turns Vibe-Coder, Builds a Fortune-Telling App On Her Own!
You remember the cute-looking Mirai Asumi, right? With doll-like features. You might be amazed to learn what she’s been up to lately.
Mirai was always vocal about her struggles with ADHD, ASD, and feeling like a social misfit. For years, she says she was fascinated by engineering but convinced herself that actually becoming an engineer was beyond her abilities, although she is well-read and an alumnus of the reputed Keio University in Minato, Japan.
And now with the recent vibe-coding boom, she’s completely enamored by the tech, so much so that she started using the tech stack to build a service of her own and announced the project on Note. What followed was an intense month of development. Mirai became so absorbed in the process that she worked through the night, sometimes staying awake late till 11 a.m. Eventually, the lack of nap began affecting her physically, but despite that, she couldn’t seem to pull herself away because she was addicted; something strange was happening meanwhile.

Ideas that had previously existed only in her imagination were suddenly becoming real. All it took for her was to type commands, and vibe coding could help turn those ideas into something tangible.
And for perhaps the first time, she wasn’t just thinking about hiring a developer to create something; Mirai was actually doing it herself.
The service she built is a vibe-coded fortune-telling platform called 'KinoKona', a system she encountered during one of the lowest periods of her life. She used birth dates to generate personality and talent profiles, dividing users into ten broad character types and calculating 120 combinations through the Day Stem and Month Branch. She even created original illustrations for each of the ten types by hand.

Mirai's app on display. Readers can try it out for themselves by clicking here.
The service also explores compatibility: why we communicate effortlessly with some people, struggle with others, or sometimes feel an inexplicable discomfort around someone.
But here’s where things got interesting. Her first version was far too complicated. She wanted to tweak it to be unique, so she incorporated secret divination techniques she had learned from her university professor, Daisho Ato, knowledge she says isn’t available online.
There was just one problem, though. The first time couldn’t easily understand what they’d been given. So she stripped away almost everything except what she genuinely wanted users to experience. Ironically, the simplified version made her realize that she probably could have built it in three days. But the biggest lesson wasn’t about software. It was personal.
After shipping the first version, she realized: “I am someone who can create things,” so she reached out to a popular X dev to ask him for a shoutout on his account. Just to spread the word.

Pornhub https://t.co/ml8BsqwBaJ pic.twitter.com/eboV39G5gl
And now she’s not satisfied with simply telling vibe coded what to do. She wants to learn coding properly. She wants to write it herself. She wants to turn into a full-time engineer. Not that she hasn’t already graduated from this programming herself
The fortune-telling platform may have been her first project. Still, she’s already thinking about the next one something useful enough that a much larger audience would actually appreciate having every day. And she’s taking the lessons from this first attempt with her: Because perhaps that’s the real story here. It’s not about a former AV actress becoming a developer or about making software development easier. It’s about the wildest transformation in the JAV industry in recent times, all thanks to vibe coding. And her wrapping up the statement says it better than I ever could: “In this era, anyone can become the person they envision themselves becoming. When you change yourself, the world around you can change too.”
Honestly? That’s a pretty powerful first step toward becoming an engineer!
