Sex in Front of a Crowd is Underused in JAV

The concept of "being watched" while naked or doing something intimate is already a highly-valued fetish amongst some. Women are particularly enthused by these fetishes, and by extension, having sex in front of a crowd should also feel erotic (if not more). On top of that, there are tons of scenarios that subtly make use of the "sex in front of a crowd" fetish, just to a lesser degree. For example, I've seen some scenes in JAV where a guy is having sex with a woman, but there's also a second guy there as well. He doesn't penetrate or do anything hardcore, but will often grab or stimulate the female. In a way, this is the same as the sex in front of a crowd fetish, except it's just one guy, and he's actively participating. Change some of these elements and you have a new fetish that just happens to be a bit similar.

Orgies, in a way, are also similar to having sex in front of a crowd. While it depends on how the orgy is set up, it differs slightly from sex in front of a crowd in that most the people who are "watching" and are also participating. There's a stark difference between other people participating, and some who are simply watching. In my opinion, it's like comparing normal oral sex to deepthroat - they both involve the woman using her mouth, but there are small differences that make each erotic on their own.

So the fetish basically exists in a lesser form already, as noted by several past JAV that have made use of these elements.

As I've stated already, the "sex in front of a crowd" fetish already borrows a bit from the exhibitionism and orgy genres, but in my opinion it can do a decent job of standing out on it's own - it's just you hardly ever see the fetish at all, so most JAV don't have the opportunity to try and expand on the idea. I imagine a lot of people would find it boring if there was an audience that basically just watched and did nothing else - but there are some things that can be done, and while it's rather limited, I think they can be very effective.

The only real thing the crowd can do to participate in the moment without actually doing something physical with the actors is speak or make noises, but that alone, when done in the right way, can be highly erotic. Imagine a scenario where a couple is having sex on a stage and there's an audience watching them. Said audience would likely cheer or talk dirty, making a spectacle of the already highly embarrassing moment. Plenty of people enjoy dirty talk during sex, and it's highly effective in this scenario as well, especially since it's coming from a bunch of people at once, and everyone is being judgemental of the situation, and thinking lewd things about the woman.

Continuing in that same vein of thought, there's sexual elements on a psychological level as well. Even outside of a sexual situation, people act differently when they know they're being watched - now combine that with sex and you have something really stimulating. The performers become more "aware" of each little movement they do, and the viewer senses that awareness and can feel the tension as a result. Add Japan's cultural elements of people being highly conscientious of how they look to others, and you have some incredible allure.

Back to the audience's participation, there's also cheering. Cheering in general also make sex in front of a crowd erotic, since it shows the audience's frame of mind - that they like what is happening and what they are watching. There is some further interactions as well via cheering - the crowd could cheer louder when something happens, like when the actor turns the actress around and she starts giving oral. The cheering could get louder when the guy starts thrusting really fast, and even louder still during the cumshot. Depending on how far away the audience is, it can be difficult for their voices to actually reach the actors, but cheering is almost always audible. The fact that the audience might not be able to communicate directly via words, but through things like cheering to express how they feel about the sex acts on display, is a very different and interesting type of eroticism.

There's also clapping - clapping in a way can already sound like skin-on-skin contact during sex, so it can be subtly sexy for a scene on it's own, but clapping is yet another form of interaction the crowd has. Clapping after the orgasm makes it seem like the sex was just one big performance, one that people willingly attended and will talk about afterwards as if it were some movie. One fun way that I've seen clapping used in erotica is to time it to the guy's thrusting - the guy starts thrusting faster, the crowd starts clapping faster, in turn it builds the tension and excitement as both get faster in tandem, until the eventual orgasm occurs alongside uproarious cheering.

I've seen other ideas in JAV that could perhaps be implemented if there are multiple couples fucking at the same time. There was a giant orgy in one JAV that I saw, and every time when one of the men ejaculated, everyone else paid attention to them and a horn was played, a bell was rung, confetti rained down - a mini-celebration was had. Over-the-top yes, but it fits with the nature of a lot of JAV, and in a way it has it's sexy aspects. Something like this could be applied to a "sex in front of a crowd" scenario.

This fetish also helps break expectations and does something new with ideas or scenarios that would otherwise be considered usual and ordinary. Those who watch JAV are used to escalation: when someone accidentally comes into a room while a couple is having sex, what happens? They usually end up joining in by touching the woman or doing sex acts themself. There are tons of JAV that run this same scenario over and over, but what if instead, that person (or, group of people, perhaps) just watched? The couple now have an audience as opposed to another participant, and we get to hear them add "commentary" to the whole situation. Sure, this is highly unusual, but that's one of JAV's strengths, and suddenly having an audience as opposed to an orgy definitely makes for a surprising "twist".

So, while sex in front of a crowd might seem like it's really similar to other genres in JAV, it's definitely unique and one of a kind. It's just that a lot of JAV haven't explored what all can be done, or what it can offer, and I think it could fit in quite well with JAV considering the more outlandish and strange fetishes the medium has explored, and everyone knows that strange is always welcomed in erotic entertainment.

By keeping the crowd more "passive" (instead of joining in with the sex), by doing things like talking, cheering, or clapping, it puts more emphasis on the few people actually having sex and the audience's reactions/feelings of that "performance". Compare this to an orgy, where instead the viewer is absorbing sex acts from many different people - the sex in front of a crowd fetish essentially separates the participants into two groups and explores the more psychological stimulation behind having people watch a sex act unfold.
