JAV Sales Report - August 2025

Welcome to the August Sales Report, let's go see how the last bit of summer shaped up.

Rei seems to be having a great time now that she’s out of S1. I think most actresses don’t really want to put themselves out there in the freelance world, and I get it. It’s scary and you go from arguably the top studio to wherever your skills take you. But for Rei that seems to be a good thing as she’s up quite a lot of spots.

It’s interesting to see Airi and Remu up top and I feel like we’re starting to get to the point that the non-Fanza studios are catching up. Some months we go crazy with SOD, this month is a good showing from Prestige, maybe next month we’ll have Faleno steal the spotlight. I definitely feel like Remu’s September release is more interesting than Airi’s (remember that physical sales include the preorders for the future month) but I wouldn’t have been surprised either way as I think Remu is just generally their most popular actress. Regardless, let’s try and remmeber next month to see if we get good results from non-Fanza studios.

Yuka is one of the debuts I’m most excited for. That kind of soft milf with big boobs (90H) is where I like to be and she’s got some solid releases so far. This one is one of those videos that I always get mixed opinions on. It puts a lot on the actress because of how awkward it is as they warm up to their boss and how much they need to get into it. I do love me a good kissing theme though and I’m interested to see if Yuka can be the one to kiss as well as she needs to in order to make this work.

Miyu Aizawa seems to be everywhere these days and this video is all the proof I need of that. She’s not the only top actress there either, she’s joined by Yui Tenma as well. It’s an interesting video with it being futa and airlines themed. I don’t know who comes up with these whether it’s director Nishikawa or not but damn it’s great and I just wish it had a cast I was more personally interested in because I’d have been all over it.

I keep having very mixed feelings about Miyu, she’s certainly got a nice body and she’s kind of cute, but her performances always feel so bad that I don’t really want to keep up with her. Maybe this video alongside Umika is enough to keep things a bit more interesting, giving you someone else to divert attention when you’re not quite feeling Miyu. Or maybe Miyu will step up and actually perform. It’s not out yet and not the reason why she’s doing well this month but something to look forward to as well as something I think will keep her popular again.

I can never quite get a read on Mitsuha. She seems somewhat plain to me but people tend to enjoy their tall women (maybe partially because of the scarcity of them). Regardless Mitsuha does seem to have quite interesting films so I can understand where people are coming from. Too much of S1 is bland videos and I think giving Mitsuha this kind of variety is criminally underrated. Now if S1 could just do this with the rest of their roster, I’d be happy.

Itsuki Saisai is a very interesting actress as she’s from Taiwan. We’ve seen a couple of actresses from other places like Hong Kong and Taiwan so it’s interesting to see more of this. I have very little faith this is anything more than a gimmick but we’ll have to see how it goes.

I just have to say what an incredible cover this is. The idea of her in simple clothes, taking off her sweater to reveal those huge boobs, wow. It’s not the first time I’ve seen a video that was premised on “she had big boobs under her shirt” but Yu Tano is certainly the biggest I’ve seen. There’s definitely a difference between someone more modest at like 90G vs Yu’s titanic titties. It’s a pretty nice video too and I’m glad to see Yu seeing some success when it’s Kanna Seto this or Saika Kawakita that.

Kanna Seto has so many videos in the top 10 I had to straight up make a banner for it. It’s absurd that she alone is half the top 10, step aside Yua, step aside Saika, Kanna is here to stay. It seems like every video just continues to always do well which is ridiculous.

Hikari always feels like a little bit of a side actress at SOD to me when you’ve got the likes of Suzu, Mana, Momona, Rei, and everyone else on their roster, so it’s great to see her getting some love. It’s an interesting video where her going to the countryside as a nurse goes a bit sideways. I appreciate more interesting plots from the generic stuff we so often get, and I’m sure Hikari does a great job of it.

What an absolute banger of a video that our 7th place actress Ibuki Aoi (葵いぶき) and our 17th place actress Nozomi Ishihara (石原希望) have for next month. If you don’t keep up with it, the four of them comprise an idol group called Mi Luna. To see all of them in this together as a harem release is exactly what the industry should be doing. Sure, I get how tricky logistics can be when they’re in different studios but damn they sure are trying their best these days to recreate what made JAV great in the first place. I’m all for it, keep up the good work!

When I look at a cover like this from Mitsuki Momota (百田光希) I get really mixed opinions. I mean, it looks nice and god damn does she look great on the cover, but I know what’s behind all of that. Maybe it’s about time I give her another shot because I know she has a lot of fans (which I guess this ranking graphic is the proof of that). If someone has been watching her and is convinced she’s a strong performer now, let me know in the comments please.

It’s been a while since 29th place Unpai (うんぱい) left S1 and I gotta say it seems to be working out. Some actresses are just limited by how restrictive S1 is and Unpai is definitely showing it. This videos are great and really giving her fans a second wind.

Nao Jinguji (神宮寺ナオ) can be all over the place sometimes, but not this time. She’s been a dual exclusive for so long that there’s not a ton of things she hasn’t done for one of them, and yet they still manage to find good stuff. I mean, I’m not complaining about her in bunny girl outfits (even though they might cover up her incredible butt a bit) or her being a marriage councilor offering something on the side. I feel like being a dual exclusive like this there’s just so much opportunity for great stuff and it shows.

Do you ever look at a cover and wonder if you got tricked a bit? That’s how I feel about Kanna Sannoki (三木環奈). She’s just not as good as the covers might indicate. I mean, I guess she does have big boobs and all but these days we’re blessed with so many busty actresses that I don’t need to cling to actresses like her. Even on just this page of the rankings there are several with massive boobs, so sorry Ichika, we don’t need you. I’m really curious to see if Kanna has any staying power because I think at 58th place she’s massively overrated, but maybe some people are like how I used to be and don’t look past giant tits.

I know some people who were really excited when Aya Onami (小那海あや) came back, but I’m not so sure this is what they had in mind. Were they really expecting her to be in some low level Giga video playing the heroine? Even I wasn’t and I’m not the Aya fan others are. It’s interesting to see she’s still doing reasonably well but I feel like this can only last so long.

I mentioned it up top but Prestige seems to be doing well this month, with another of their members Asuna Kawai (河合あすな) on the Bookmate rankings. What’s even more interesting is that I think her next two releases look even better. Looking at the two gave me an initial thought: which one do you prefer? Are you more the kind to look at the strong school theme of the first or do you bask in the idea of a simple weekend of love? I feel like personally I like the former more if only because the second style is hard to do right. At least with a school theme I get a lot of the value basically for free without trying, but the lovers thing is just so hard to get the performance just right. I know I should be watching more Asuna (and some friends will probably scold me that I don’t) so maybe this will be one I take a gander at.

I mentioned earlier about Unpai swapping to Moodyz and she’s not the only S1 actress to do it. While Ren Gojo doing it recently might be the one people are talking about, our 87th place actress Hiyori Nozaka (乃坂ひより) also recently made the swap. There’s something about actresses from S1 getting creampied that breaths new life into them (pretty much literally lol). But seriously, with all these actresses swapping over I’m really curious to see if they can compete against their time in S1 and one up themselves or not. Hopefully someone will remind me in half a year to make a blog about it because it would be an interesting thing to dive deep into. Is leaving S1 a good idea? Should you go to Moodyz or freelance? In half a year we’ll probably have some great data to use to find out the answer to it. At any rate, I hope Hiyori does well at Moodyz.

Well, that's all I have for this post. I hope I can remember about the S1 -> Moodyz transfer post down the line because it would be an interesting thing to check out. It also has me wondering about other things too, like actresses who leave Moodyz, where actresses from S1 go, all sorts of different things. That analytical mind of mine just keeps looking at what ways I can look at data to find any useful conclusions, especially if I can predict who may end up as the next big thing.
