I definitely didn’t expect Ako Kimura to find herself at the center of a social-media controversy. I mean, she just doesn’t give that vibe. But unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened.

Earlier this month, Aiko attended the Osaka Pool Photo Session together with her agency girlfriends Mia Kamiki and Momo Sakurano. And, apparently, her L-cup tits attracted plenty of attention. Her famously voluptuous figure was impossible to ignore, even in a swimsuit.

Then a social media lurker noticed something on X: her breasts had apparently gotten even bigger.

That’s when the lurker with around 30k followers posted a comment on X questioning whether she’d had breast implants. He compared her to Nagi Hikaru, who he claimed had undergone a similar transformation, and basically asked why someone who already had such a large bust would want to make it even bigger. Honestly, given her demeanor, that’s something that she could have easily ignored. Most actresses probably would have pretended they never saw it.

But Ako isn’t the one to be messed with. Instead, she tagged him directly and demanded that he delete the post, and then she explained what she said actually happened. According to Ako, she had visited the clinic where she’d been receiving regular breast massages since her debut. During that visit, she apparently realized that her breasts had actually become larger.

She even pointed out that fans could compare her appearance with her debut work and see the difference for themselves. Then she thanked the clinic for its “breast-enhancing massages.” The clinic itself joined the conversation, explaining its massage technique and naturally taking the opportunity to promote its services.

This particular lurker, who had originally criticized Ako, admitted that he’d misunderstood the situation and apologized. He even said he’d purchase her work as an apology…

But here’s the funny part. Ako didn’t just get an apology out of this. She also managed to promote the clinic. And, at least according to her own explanation, she got an opportunity to show fans that the change in her appearance wasn’t the result of breast implants, and I think that’s a pretty efficient way to handle a social-media controversy!

Now, about the breast massage itself. Breast massage has been promoted by some Japanese beauty and aesthetic clinics for quite some time. According to Ako’s clinic, its treatment is intended to increase the volume of mature fat cells and thereby make the breasts appear larger.

Whether that claim actually has solid medical evidence behind it is another question. I certainly wouldn’t take a social-media post as scientific proof.

Looking at Ako’s figure when she first debuted, I’m not sure anyone was sitting there thinking: “She needs to get any bigger.”

She was already known for having an extremely curvy figure. Still, what I find more interesting is how casually Ako handled the entire situation. Instead of getting pulled into an endless argument, she turned the criticism into an explanation, the explanation into promotion, and the promotion into a pretty memorable story.
