EXCLUSIVE: Ai Uehara is attempting to covertly take down her massive JAV catalogWhile R18 is owned by DMM, they have leeway into sales and whatnot. It's not like every action is closely watched by those above. If they got wind of AiU delisting her works, they may have somewhat secretly pushed through a sale to catch the uptick in people in the know buying her things before it is too late (though with DRM, I wonder what happens when they get delisted? Can't play any more on one's computer I take it?).

JAV inside workings: how a new girl starts career and did Yui Shirasaka overshare? Part 2The greatest thing about JAV is the barrier to entry for studios is very low. Be it S1, Moodyz, or random mid-tier studios, the cost to shoot a title isn't much. It's possible larger studios can GUARANTEE that they'll hire the actress for X amount of movies over Y period of time, but the pay per title probably won't be much different sans guarantee.

The Curious Case of Aida Asuka - How the JAV industry took the life of a rising star! It's hard to say whether the agency worsened her condition or tried to help her. For all we know, her previous agency dropped her for those reasons and Zeal took her on, but couldn't handle her situation.

EXCLUSIVE: Ai Uehara is attempting to covertly take down her massive JAV catalogFrom the perspective of the studio, it looks bad if they don't comply. An example of bad publicity for an industry that already receives its fair share of negative press. Ai Uehara, for example, hasn't been active for a few years. Yes, she has many titles, but it's not like their generating that much sales. As a studio, I'd be very annoyed with the request, but it probably won't hurt the bottom line. I can imagine, however, that if more actresses like her (retired, but still active on social media and filmed many JAV movies across a long career) made similar requests, you may see studios start to fight back.

The Curious Case of Aida Asuka - How the JAV industry took the life of a rising star!Even though rumors say most JAV star social media accounts are handled by their agencies, I'm still sure at the very least the actresses check them from time to time. They may see comments and sometimes those comments can bite deep.
