I would agree with the comments below regarding a criminally low rating for T+A! The Ass is at least a 9. But quibbling aside on that front, a great tribute to one of the true starlets in JAV. It seemed timely to comment on this, now that Ai retired last month. And I could not recommend the retirement video more highly, perhaps one of the best such videos ever (MIDA-277)! Since this was written, a few other Sayama gems are: WAAA-342, WAAA-323, and JUFE-416. The last is my favorite of the lot, with Ai at her slutty finest!! Thanks again for such a great spotlight!
I truly appreciate that in addition to providing contemporary reviews, recent market data, informed opinions, and thoughtfully curated "best of" lists, Zenra has a dedicated section to its blog for the history of JAV!! As a relative newcomer to the genre, JAV seems so overwhelming and arcane. Trying to understand its origins and development over the years is daunting, particularly to a Westerner without an understanding of Japanese so as to read source material from Japan. So essays dedicated to JAV history is such a welcome resource! And starting with the history of MOODYZ, a studio with such a great legacy in JAV, is brilliant!
I think in particular the years have not been kind to giving Karen Kaede a "D." Agreed BV VII was not her best title, but I though she still stood out there versus the others. But see her in something like IPX-580 around the same time, and her prowess is patently manifest! I also suspect Mana Sakura's "A" seems pretty overinflated. Outside of something like STARS-279, the vast majority of titles I saw her in seemed middling at best. But I appreciated your takes, even when disagreeing with them!
Yua was one of my favorites! I first saw her in SSNI-618 and was hooked from then on. A super cute, innocent face that would transform into an insatiable minx. I saw few women who could look so good in a school uniform. A perfect body that had all the right curves. So glad she lasted in the industry until just a couple of years ago! She will be missed!!
I agree with the review. Plot is left on the backburner, which is too bad since Hentai collabs can be really interesting. Nevertheless, the sex more than makes up for it. Neo is indeed perfectly cast, with the body proportions being spot on (and incredibly enticing). She is also very attractive and sexy. I might not be quite as enthusiastic in my overall assessment, but it is a solid 8+ and is worth watching without hesitation.
