Is Nene Yoshitaka Stuck In A Feud Between Two Of The Biggest Agencies In JAV?
Of all the gossips that appeared on my feed last week, there was one that almost consistently showed up to the point that I had to include it in this column rather than ignore it. It is as if everything circled back to the same name: Nene Yoshitaka.
Her announcement was deceptively simple. No cryptic emojis to put out her message, rather just a statement confirming that she was leaving her longtime agency, Eightman, and had transferred to their very industry counterpart, T-Powers. And yet you’d think that she had set off a small earthquake with the way people talked about her.
I’ll admit it: I never saw this coming. In my mind, Nene felt like an Eightman loyalist for life. The kind of talent who would quietly ride out her final years in the game with the agency, much like Aoi Tsukasa did.
But a transfer to a rival agency? That was definitely not in my cards.
Because let’s be honest, these JAV agencies don’t play nice.
Which immediately makes me wonder, if at all, this was a classic case of aggressive talent poaching, or was something quietly brewing behind the scenes at Eightman? Fans had a variety of theories. Few insisted she was meant to retire there, while others suggested this was a strategic reset rather than an escape plan. And then there’s the Faleno angle.

One particular fan suggested that if Nene’s studio alignment doesn’t change, she could very well become the first Faleno exclusive linked to T-Powers, which would make her an industry first. And I particularly have a feeling that this transfer could quietly make way for more talents, increasing the number of Faleno exclusives under that agency’s watchful eyes. But I doubt it.
Naturally, name-change rumors were given their fair share of clout, as they always do. But unless her studio situation shifts, changing her name would be frankly unnecessary. Which makes me think this isn’t about erasing her past, either. So what exactly motivated her to move out of Eightman?
In her own words, Nene framed the move not as an ending, but as unfinished business.
“I have decided to transfer to T-Powers,” she wrote. “I apologize for the sudden announcement and surprise. I hope you understand that this was not an easy decision to make.” She reminded fans that she has been in the industry for nine years and yet, “there are still many things I have not done or left undone.”
That line stuck with me.
“My career as an AV actress will eventually come to an end,” she continued, “so I would like to join T-Powers and make these dreams come true without any regrets.” That makes it pretty clear that she wasn’t being pushed out; she chose to leave on her own terms.
Nene ended the statement with a quiet resolve: “Wherever I am, I am me. I will continue to face the challenges in front of me with all my might and strive to be myself.”
Fans, for the most part, met her halfway. “A bit surprised, but it’s not retirement, just a transfer,” one wrote, relieved. Another cheered, “I look forward to your success in the new office… I’m happy that Nene will also join from now on!”
So for now, this seems just like a career pivot.

Mio Matsuoka Emerged After All These Months, Just To Keep Her Fans Guessing
While her fans might’ve written her off as a “gone girl…?” Mio Matsuoka decided to remind them that she’s still very much alive & kickin
If you’ve been paying attention to the 2023 debutantes, some of you’ll remember Mio as the breakout who debuted with Kawaii and instantly carved out a niche, short in stature, big in presence, and unmistakably Kawaii-coded. She was one of Kawaii’s best bets that year. Which is why her sudden silence raised more eyebrows than any teaser ever could.
After her last JAV release in June 2024 with Wanz, Mio literally went poof! Fans assumed that she’d either quietly retired or was stuck in contract purgatory. Turns out, none of them were entirely right.
Earlier this week, Mio finally broke the news, and did it with just enough mystery to send fandom into detective mode.
“Speaking of which… I’m sure some of you have already noticed…” she wrote, already sounding like someone enjoying the slow reveal. Then came the interesting part: “After a long, long hiatus, I, Mio Matsuoka… will be returning to the industry.”
But she wasn’t done, rather far from it. Mio casually dropped the real bombshell right after: “I was fortunate enough to be approached by a certain company to work exclusively with them… I’ve been filming for a few months now.” Months? As if it’s a well-calculated comeback.
Naturally, she refused to reveal. “I’ll announce which company it is at a later date!” she teased, before leaning fully into asking her fans: “By the way, let me know your predictions.”
そういえば…

長い長いお休みを経て
この度、私、松岡美桜…
業界復帰致します😌🌸

And the replies did not disappoint either.
“I was wondering what happened because the work didn’t come out. I’m looking forward to it,” one fan admitted, echoing what many had been thinking for nearly a year. Another chimed in, “Congratulations on your return!! It’s amazing to be exclusive in return! I’m looking forward to the work.” And then there was the usual “Looking forward to the new VR work.”
Ah yes. That word.
Between the mention of exclusivity, months of uncalled breaks, and a VR JAV speculation around the corner, theories are now flying faster than official press releases. Is she leveling up for the Prestige label? Whatever the answer, one thing remains clear: this wasn’t a break, it was a calculated pause.
What fascinates me most isn’t just Mio’s return, but how she’s doing it. Just a calm, confident statement that says, I was busy, I was chosen, and you’ll see soon enough.
But you’ve got to give it to her. She chose absence and made it work in her favor. Now she’s back, an exclusive deal secured, and curiosity regarding her is at an all-time high.
The only real question left? When she finally drops that company name, will it live up to the hype she’s already built or completely blindside us all
