Some of this comes from card/billing rules and over-compliance where producers tell actresses to act as you noted because even the slightest bit of 'real acting' could be seen as an issue. "If she isn't an assertive sex freak, then why is she in this porn movie?", "Oh man, western porn, everyone is always so crazily into sex, it's such a turn-off!". JAV thanks possibly to my JCB theory (search the blog) does not have this issue. However, it puts sites like ours in a pickle at times where even though content may be totally staged with fully consenting performers, if everyone isn't all smiling, we may have to make cuts (or opt not to show the movie altogether).

We're not touching that case with a 100 foot pole. Hopefully she gets the help she needs. Per agency and model health, pasting my reply from the SLR forum from not too long ago: "It's the agency's responsibility to ensure their performers are healthy both physically and mentally. In this situation, reaching out to the agency is the best choice. Also note that for some, JAV is indeed their safe space; so-and-so was booked, is eager to film, appears gung-ho about performing, but may not look good. Should a studio say no? Easier said than done in this situation plus how the new law has made scheduling such a fraught affair; simply rescheduling for another week can't be done any more. Cutting shoots can bankrupt smaller studios. In this situation, provided the actress really still wants to perform, the show, for better or worse, must go on."

This is a type of viewpiont where the author should turn the lens inward. Yua and all other adult film stars do not take the ‘easy’ road to success. Her extreme success may not have entirely came from her own efforts, but she certainly was a major decision maker both in terms of what movies she did and how she had her image marketed. There are very few adult film stars anywhere in the world who have amassed her type of following and it takes more than being a ‘whore with a good manager’ to get where she is today.

Given her job, it's important for her to push a "I can't find love" image. If she told fans she was dating, 20% of her subscriber base may cancel then and there.
