Oppaira's JAV Watchlist Review - January 2025 - Part 1

Welcome to the first half of my January Watchlist reviews. Let's go see how this month's selections turned out!

Anyone reading my posts knows that I've been gushing about Riho Shishido, perhaps unlike her in this video as she didn't squirt. That kind of summarizes my review of this in a nutshell: there were still things on the table. She didn't squirt nor deepthroat which I think are two things that elevate her videos a lot. Just casually doing both make me enjoy a video so much more, and could have been the difference maker to push it to a banger. That being said it's not a bad film by any means. It has a smattering of teacher scenes that are pretty isolated scenes. She does still do a good job of everything else, balancing being sloppy and passionate. It had hot outfits that were nice when used properly but weak when used incorrectly. Like I'll be real with you, if she had sex in her suit with just her pants dropped down to do a CFNM power play type of thing, I'd have lost my mind, but instead she took it off to reveal a pink one-piece bathing suit underneath. Like why? At least she kept her glasses on, though maybe that was weird? It's still a good video but good isn't great.

Let's get the most important thing out of the way: it was good, it wasn't great, it's not a banger. So why? I think part of it was the cosplays not really aligning well enough with me. I don't much care for Lum nor do I think something that felt like it was supposed to be Boa but wasn't really were good enough. I tend to be a bit of a purist so an obviously slutty nurse or slutty nun aren't as great as, say a cop in uniform like we got in that one scene. There was plenty of content where Chitose was doing her thing, giving great paizuri, riding in fun positions, even squirting in doggy once. I do think I've seen better from Chitose but at that point it's like complaining that your steak was two degrees overcooked, it's probably still great. The way I see it, if you're a Chitose fan I'm sure you'll enjoy it, but I doubt you'll be going wild for it like some of her all-time greats.

Meguri is a teacher who develops a cuckold fetish after her students can’t take their eyes off her. As her husband starts to realize this, coupled with their sexless marriage, he decides the best course of action is to encourage Meguri to act out on it.

I came into this ready to watch for two reasons: Meguri and the movie theatre gimmick. Maybe I should have only come in for the first because the theatre gimmick was just that. It was cool for a minute or two but honestly the cinematography was rather weak. A lot of shadows, hard to see at times, and really pushed when she became the lead actress up at the front. As much as the video's narrative did take the time to get to where it needed to be, that is, Meguri came around to having sex in public, it was honestly a pretty weak theme. I'm just not the biggest fan of cuckold stuff like this and watching her husband willingly let her get cuckolded, or perhaps even more accurately stated as guiding her into it, not really for me. Meguri's over-the-top stuff was as it is which can be a bit hit or miss. As much as this video is a bit more unique and that might have made sense, I overall don't think that it was anything special nor that it aided in the video. I can hardly ever be upset watching Meguri but her style leaves a narrow band of videos that are really good for her and then a wake of them that are whatever, like this one.

Rena lives alone with her stepson, terribly lonely and sexually frustrated. Of course, she still looks banging in a swimsuit, and when her stepson’s friend visits and sees her like that he’s incredibly turned on. When Rena catches wind of him being interested she capitulates, not realizing that his libido is bottomless.

Sometimes you watch a video not because you think it will be great but because you simply like the actress. I'm not naive enough to think that my bias for Rena is entirely founded in skill, because let's face it, it's not. That's not me saying she's a terrible actress but she's pretty average. Her paizuri was good, her moaning was decent, she had some slurping blowjob stuff, but often it was very generic. This series gives actresses a lot of runway to be expressive and Rena just wasn't. I think the video had a lot of good ideas, like her tanning outside in a bikini as the way the guy got interested. It's the kind of thing that is heads up thinking from the director to utilize the uniqueness of Rena while being fitting. They then tossed it down the drain when she let him watch her change, like if you're going to do that just have sex then and there. I think the "this is overwhelming" theme never really came through though and that her acting abilities let her down a little. It's not really a good film in my mind and I think worse than most of her videos since joining Madonna.

I don't know why I keep coming back to hentai adaptations because they seemingly always fall a little short for me. I guess I keep thinking that everything else can trump it but it really can't. This one's got a lot of things to like, from anal to hot outfits like Alice's schoolgirl uniform, and of course to the two of them making out with each other. It honestly has a lot of things here and there that make you want to love it. I mean, how can you go wrong when Alice is sucking on Yuria's big titties? I think overall I felt like the performances weren't quite spicy enough nor was the content. I just compare this to Slut Heaven stuff where they're going all-out and enjoying each other and this just feels like a bit of a step back. Sure, it's maybe not meant to be the same, but I guess I just hope for a little more, especially when I feel like it had potential to be great. It's still a good film and if any of the things I've said it has sound nice you should watch it, just don't expect a top 10 video out of this one.
