Shiori Tsukada's FANS Might Just Hate Her For This Tweet!
Of all the exits that blasted on my screen, this was the least expected, and I, for once, couldn’t believe that Shiori Tsukada was walking away from JAV. But this week, I found myself reading one of Shiori’s personal letters, confirmed what many fans sensed but few expected to hear so subtly: she’s done. Or at least, she’s ready to be.
“Now, I have an announcement to make. I will be retiring and ceasing all activities at the end of March this year.” And just like that, a career spanning more than a decade comes to an end. Yet, the real story isn’t the retirement itself. It’s the emotional tug-of-war that led her here.
Shiori admits she never planned to tell anyone so soon. In fact, she wanted the opposite. “Right now, I have a strong desire to quietly draw the curtain on my acting career,” she wrote, revealing a craving for a low-key exit that feels almost rebellious in an industry addicted to over-the-top farewell JAVs & endless fan meets. But Shiori decided to hold it for the very last second & only announce when the time was right.

But as she continued meeting fans, attending events, and locking eyes with the very people who showed up for her until the end, the guilt crept in. “I was conflicted, wondering what it would be like to quit without telling the people who come to see me and support me until the very last minute.” It clearly looks as if she had lost her mind over how much she owes her audience and whether they’d even notice if she slipped away.
It’s like she toyed with the March announcements, then scrapped them and reconsidered. “After interacting with fans at recent events, I felt like announcing it in March was too last-minute and too heartless. So I kept changing my mind.”
And perhaps the most cutting line of all was when she said, “I’m worried that people wouldn’t really care if I announced my retirement early or late.”
Yet, in the end, secrecy felt stranger than honesty. “As I talked with everyone, I felt like it would be a bit strange to deliberately keep it a secret.” So she spoke sincerely about it, and then, almost as an afterthought, she said the apology that sums it all up: “Sorry for the inconsistent response.”
If anything, this feels like an actress easing herself toward the exit, pausing every few steps to look back not for applause, but to make sure she didn’t leave without saying goodbye. And in an industry where exits are usually, there’s something quietly haunting about one that almost didn’t want to exist at all.
Nanami Matsumoto's Nine-Year Lengthy Career Might've Come To An End, But She Left An Easter Egg For Fans
Nanami Matsumoto’s final message cut through all the noise on X as she exclaimed, “My last shoot is over, marking the end of nearly nine years of work!” In an industry that consumes talent by the contract, she survived for a whole decade!
Naturally, the word 'last' sent fans into overdrive. Nanami was quick to course-correct, and this is where things actually get interesting. “But this time, I’m not retiring, I’m graduating!” she clarified with a diploma emoji and all. A subtle distinction, sure, but in the AV business, words matter. Retiring implies a door slammed shut. Graduating, on the other hand, suggests a hallway full of new ones.
Still, don’t mistake the cheerfulness for ease. The emotion slips through the cracks. “It feels so sudden, and it makes me sad,” she admitted, before pivoting with a laugh: “but it also makes me realize how hard I’ve worked for so long (lol).” It’s the sound of someone trying not to get sentimental and failing just a little.
After nearly a decade in JAV, she didn’t arrive at this decision lightly. “After much deliberation, I’m graduating from AV,” she said, and that word deliberation is doing some serious work. This wasn’t burnout. A moment of self-check before time makes the choice for you. But before anyone starts drafting farewell letters, Nanami dropped the real twist: “I’ll still be active in the adult industry to meet demand.”
Ah yes. The classic not-a-goodbye goodbye.
It basically means that she’s stepping away from JAV but not the adult industry. And she’s very aware that the audience isn’t done with her yet. In fact, she’s betting on it. “I hope you’ll support me when I start my new endeavors!” she wrote, framing this less as an exit and more as a rebrand. The motivation feels personal, not performative: “This is the path I decided on because I don’t want to regret it.”
And just when you think the curtain’s about to fall, she reminds everyone who this moment is really for. “Finally, thank you from the bottom of my heart for always supporting me! I love you!” It’s sincere, unguarded, and just sentimental enough to sting.
As if that weren’t enough to keep tongues wagging, Nanami later hinted via a very deliberate tweet at a sub account where she plans to post exclusive content for fans post-graduation. No details, no promises, just enough breadcrumbs to keep her fans following her on impulse
So no, this isn’t an ending. It’s more of a career pivot. A graduation without a disappearance. And if Nanami has proven anything over the last nine years, it’s that she knows exactly how to keep her fans on their toes.
