The presidents of the JAV studios are mourning about the current state of the industry and complaining about piracy, but they have not for a single minute fought to sell their movies overseas? Every single media in Japan (manga, anime, video games) has already noticed that they NEED to sell their products in the entire world to be able to survive, and yet the porn industry thinks they will be able to survive with only local sales. The JAV industry is doomed to fail if it keeps this mentality. Realitykings filmed a scene with Hazuki Mion, Vixen Media Group with Emiri Momota/Mizukawa Sumire, and recently with a newbie called Asuka Tenshi in Tokyo. I don't know how successful these scenes were, but if the industry in Japan doesn't come up with a plan to sell their products to Western audiences, it's just a matter of time before Western studios start to steal talent from the JAV industry. You mentioned Gabe Newell in the article, and sincerely, Steam is basically the best storefront ever made. If a studio starts following their model with content available worldwide, regional pricing, and adding special payment methods that some countries have, they can certainly increase their income, but I don't think the old guys will have that vision.
Check JUFD-606, it has both Shizuku and Chitose and is one of my favorite series of JAV, I hope one day Fitch revives this series again.
