Here's a rundown of some of the top stories we had our eyes on in May

Karen Kaede Set To RETIRE Again? Star Drops Major Hint

Hold my phone, did Karen Kaede subtly drop an exit cue?

This caught my attention on April 23 when Karen posted a cryptic Instagram story. However, she was quick to take down the cryptic status almost as quickly as it appeared, but no sooner than it had already grabbed the attention of her fans.

One moment she’s dropping vague hints, and the next poof! Gone without a trace. No context, no follow-up, and certainly no explanation. Classic Karen, right?

If this all sounds familiar, it should. After all, Karen is no stranger to the unpredictable. Fans of this iconic JAV star have grown accustomed to her rollercoaster career, be it disappearances, sudden studio switches, or dramatic comebacks. But nobody expected her to drop a cryptic retirement hint at some odd hour.

Let's admit, she has been absent for a while. Karen’s last JAV dropped in March. Now, with May’s release schedule out and not a single release in sight, she’s effectively been on hiatus for almost two months. That’s an eternity in the industry, especially for someone who commands such star power. While other girls from her roster are churning out content, Karen’s been radio silent, and with no releases on the horizon and the recently deleted Instagram story, it begs the question: Is Karen stepping away from JAV again? If at all that is the case, it wouldn’t be the first time.

To be honest, for longtime fans, Karen’s unpredictability is part of the appeal. She’s what I like to refer to as the industry’s wild girl—untamed, unapologetic, and fiercely independent. But that very unpredictability is what makes her hard to manage, or so we hear. There have been rumors in the past that hinted that her manager has had more than one headache dealing with her spontaneous decisions, and one can only imagine the sheer panic that Instagram posts might’ve caused behind the scenes.

So if Karen is not shooting JAVs, where exactly is she? Word on the street is that Karen’s planning a trip to Taiwan this summer. But not for TRE (Taipei Red Expo), the expo that typically draws JAV stars to international waters. Instead, sources suggest something more personal—perhaps a retreat or a quiet escape to reflect on her time alone. Either way, it doesn’t hint at a “farewell tour,” which gives us hope that she’s not leaving the industry for good.

To understand where Karen might be going, let’s look back at her dramatic 2023 comeback.

In June of that year, much to the surprise of her fans, Karen made a shock appearance on X (formerly Twitter) with a subtle comeback message. Many didn’t know that behind the scenes, she had already signed her next contract and resumed filming. After having struggled to mend things with her former agency, she was reintroduced at Ideapocket in November 2023, a move that was applauded by her loyalists.

Let’s not forget that at that time, Ideapocket had been struggling. Studios like S1 and Moodyz were killing the competition with their fresh-faced recruits. But it all changed with Karen’s return. Suddenly, Ideapocket was relevant again.

Of course, her return to Ideapocket came with its fair share of baggage. Before joining her former studio, she’d taken a detour to Eightman, who pitched her to Faleno. Things didn’t get any better when she jumped ship, and the vibes just weren’t clicking.

Meanwhile, Karen parted ways with both and returned to her roots, Ideapocket. And it was a comeback of sorts with the studio calling it a splashy announcement on November 14, 2023, confirming her official comeback. After what can only be described as a JAV soap opera, it seemed Karen had finally found stability.

But now with the cryptic social media tease and the rumored Taiwan trip, it all has an air of déjà vu. It could be that Karen is on the cusp of another retirement.

Let’s face it, Karen is more than an AV actress. She’s a brand in herself. A volatile, headline-generating brand that knows how to create hype. Losing her again, if at all, is in the cards, even temporarily, would be a major blow for Ideapocket. Her fans would keep a close eye, especially since Karen’s return has been instrumental in revitalizing Ideapocket’s momentum.

Until she resurfaces, fans will continue to speculate, studios will keep their fingers crossed, and we’ll keep a close eye on her. So, watch this space!

It’s only a matter of time until we find out whether Karen stays or exits, but what we do know is this: something is brewing. Karen’s silence is never just silence. It’s a message, one we’re all trying to decode. And it could be anything ranging from a sabbatical, a contract dispute, or a secret project overseas.

Moe Amatsuka's Wraps Up JAV Career With Farewell JAV Set To Release On H-Next

After all these months of captivating her audiences, it seems as if the wait is finally over. You heard it right, Moe Amatsuka is finally saying goodbye as her farewell JAV hit the market, FNS-038, produced by FALENO, dropped this month on the H-NEXT adult marketplace on May 1st. With that, one of the most iconic careers in the industry's history comes to an end.

To freshen up your memory, Moe’s sudden retirement announcement in mid-2024 shocked everyone. No cryptic posts. No rumors. Just a calm, heartfelt message confirming that she would soon step away after 11 unforgettable years in the adult business. For fans who grew up watching her evolve through her JAVs, from a shy personality to a confident screen goddess, it felt like their world is coming to an end.

But now, the moment has finally arrived. And it’s nothing short of emotional.

Before that, let’s travel back in time. Moe debuted as a soft-spoken, almost timid newcomer. But her debut was anything but ordinary under S1, and while her initial roles painted her as the “girl next door,” it didn’t take long for her to find her stride.

Fans noticed. Directors noticed, and heck, even her peers. With her subtle innocence, Moe quickly carved out a space of her own in an industry saturated with talent.

By the time she transitioned to FALENO last year, she was no longer a rookie, she was the studio’s poster girl. Through her JAVs, she created moments that fans would resonate with.

And now, that story has reached its final chapter.

Coming back to her farewell JAV, FNS-038, titled ‘Colorful’ is nothing sort of ordinary like her debut.

Back in July, when she had announced her retirement, she had teased a JAV supposed to be her 100th film, and FALENO didn’t skimp on the send-off. FALENO gave Moe an advance tribute last year, a special 10th-anniversary compilation that spanned 14 of her most beloved classics. Early whispers suggested that the JAV blended heartfelt drama with nods to her most iconic roles. The production quality on that was insane, almost Hollywood-level.

There’s no overstating Moe's contribution to JAV. In an industry where actresses last like seasonal trends, Moe’s evolution is commendable. While many found themselves typecast or faded into obscurity, she transitioned between studios with surprising grace.

Let’s just say that at S1, she built her foundation. At FALENO, she put up a fortress.

Yes, she saw her fair share of ups and downs. There were even periods when critics questioned whether she could even sustain her popularity. But she did prove them wrong, gradually with grace. It’s hard to find Moe being involved in a scandal.

And the response to her farewell, JAV have been equally generous. On X, comments have ranged from sentimental to downright heartbreaking. Comments like “Thank you, Moe, for being a part of my youth” and “I grew up with her on my screen—now I feel old” echo the emotional connection fans have had with her over the years.

For most fans, she was an emotional constant. In many ways, she transcended her reel life as fans found familiarity and comfort in her. And that, perhaps, is her greatest legacy.

The million-dollar question now remains: What’s next for Moe?

No word yet on whether Moe plans to transition to mainstream entertainment, maybe as a YouTuber or influencer. Some speculate she may even write a memoir. Whatever her next move, it’s clear she’s leaving at the peak of her career, and perhaps that’s the best ending anyone can ask for.

Wrapping up, I’d like to thank Moe for 11 years of spreading magic on screen. Your innocent charm will be missed dearly. While your journey in front of the camera may be over, you’ll forever be a top 10 hottie on the JAV Hall of Fame list.

Akari Tsumugi's Second Innings With Premium Has A Double Exclusive Catch

This is one of those moves no one saw coming! Yes, Akari Tsumugi is officially quitting Madonna!

And you heard it here. After a 21-film run with Madonna, Akari is ending her exclusive contract and is about to jump ship to Premium. Her debut JAV under the Premium label, PRED-771, is set to drop this month on the 16th, and the JAV has already started garnering significant hype.

Die-hard Tsumugi fans might recall a tweet from November 2024. Seemingly vague at the time, Akari uploaded a photo on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “special shoot after a while.” While most fans took it as a teaser for her next Madonna release, something more intriguing was cooking behind the scenes. And then… silence.

For two consecutive months, there was no mention of Akari in Madonna’s release calendar. No teasing behind-the-scenes stills from sets. No social media hype. Just an eerie absence, punctuated by the fact that she was noticeably not included in the studio’s highly anticipated bus tour series ‘Bako Bako’. That’s when things started to become serious.

Turns out, she was preparing for an exit, and now, it's official.

While fans of the studio might feel blindsided, I will tell you: this move was long overdue.

Let’s be real, the 27-year-old is an eloquent, youthful charm to gravitate fans towards her. But for nearly two years, Madonna was typecast into a “mature” role. Older women kinda roles that often had her playing wife, stepmother, or even a high schooler's parent. The casting was almost criminal. It wasn't that Akari couldn’t act; she had done considerably well in the past, but the roles felt like a far cry from her real-life persona.

Now with her switch to Premium, I hope she is given the roles that were long overdue. I do believe Premium’s production team will do justice to the 27-year-old by offering her such roles that align her to step into a persona that matches both her appeal and potential.

But wait, there is an intriguing clause in her contract.

Despite the headline-grabbing move to Premium, Akari isn’t giving up her ties with Ideapocket. She’ll continue her exclusive status with them as well. That makes her one of the rare few to hold double-exclusive contracts.

And the best thing is that this isn’t the first time either. Previously, Akari had been a double exclusive under the likes of Attackers and Tameike Goro, all under the careful orchestration of her talent agency C-more. It seems the agency knows exactly how to keep its poster girl in the spotlight.

This strategic balancing act allows Akari to maintain her loyal base while expanding her reach and tapping into different sub-genres, audiences, and directorial styles. Playing her cards right seems to be working for the 27-year-old.

But let’s not underestimate the power shift this move offers. With Akari joining Premium, the studio's already star-studded lineup just got a serious upgrade.

Premium being home to heavy hitters like Miu Shiromine, Ayaka Yamagishi, and Karen Yuzuriha, it is quietly but unmistakably building a powerhouse roster. The once underdog label now looks like a major threat to the top three: S1, IdeaPocket, and Moodyz.

But a matter of concern, if this talent migration continues, remains for IdeaPocket, even with Akari still on the books—it might find itself falling behind. If this is not a wake-up call for them, I don’t know what is!

The timing is uncanny, too. With Karen Kaede’s status at Ideapocket hanging by a thread (following her recent cryptic Instagram story and rumors of an overseas hiatus), now Akari is devoting a large part of her time to another studio. Can Ideapocket sustain?

Akari’s move can be deciphered as a new trend as it reflects broader trends in JAV. We're seeing a shift away from rigid studio loyalties toward flexible, cross-studio appearances. Exclusivity still matters, but the new strategy is variety, range, and controlled visibility. It’s no longer about how many films you release per month, it’s about where you release and who you’re standing next to on the cast list. In my opinion, it offers the freedom a freelance role offers as well as the safety of a studio contract.

For Akari, she’s positioned exactly where she should be, experiencing the best of both worlds.

For fans, this is a win-win… getting to watch their favorite actress twice a month.

As PRED-771 gears up for its May 16 release, anticipation is sky-high.

Ami Tokita's Feud With C-More Will See Her Opt Out Of JAV By End Of 2025

After Konan Koyoi, it's Ami Tokita's turn to retire, leading to disagreements with her agency, C-more. Ami, who has officially announced her retirement from FALENO, signalled that she’s not going quietly.

The timing couldn't be more eyebrow-raising: hot on the heels of Konan Koyoi’s sudden departure, Ami is the second major talent to cut ties with C-More, in just a matter of weeks. And if you thought this was just another career pivot, think again. Ami’s testimony on X is laced with disappointment, subtle jabs, and what sounds like a battle fought and lost behind the scenes.

Ami dropped the bombshell earlier on her personal X account (formerly Twitter), “I will retire on the final release date, August 21, 2025. As a result, I will also be leaving my agency, C-more Entertainment.”

But it was the next lines that raised my eyebrows. She revealed that she had fought hard to keep her SNS, the same one she used to build her fan base, promote her work, and share her JAV journey, but was denied. “I appealed directly for the rights to my SNS accounts, but they (C-more) would not give them to me, so I have decided to delete my main account.”

So, as a result, Ami’s primary SNS will be deactivated, taking with it years of photos, memories, and the very platform she used to connect with her fans. Unlike Konan Koyoi, who managed to keep her name and digital presence intact, Ami’s case is different, and perhaps it seems as if she’s rebranding simply as "Ami."

Furthermore, in the emotional post, Ami reflects on the difficulties she’s endured, having major FOMO over things she could have experienced but couldn’t. “There are so many things I have not been able to do and so many things I have wanted to try. There have been many difficult and painful things…”

The overall tone seems that of a bittersweet liberation: someone who is closing one painful chapter and determined to write a new one on her own terms.

Ami promised her fans that this wasn’t her hitting the end of the road. Under the name Ami, she plans to focus on other creative projects in the JAV sphere, including but not limited to fan meets, producing photobooks, and doing cute gravure shoots. She’ll continue her fan club, Mi-muse, and made one thing very clear… she’s not done yet. “From now on, I would like to broaden the scope of my activities and show myself freely in various ways without being bound by anything.”

But what exactly compelled Ami to take the plunge?

To be honest, all fingers point to C-More, her agency. Judging by the growing list of exits and rumors surrounding future exits, something isn’t sitting right behind those polished agency doors.

Ami’s relationship with her agency began unraveling early last year. After rising to fame alongside Moe Amatsuka, Tokita was a core face of Faleno’s roster between 2022 and 2023. Her performances were polished, which garnered a loyal following. Let’s just say she was, for a time, untouchable.

But then she suddenly pulled back from the limelight in 2024, Ami literally had no new works. no updates. no fan events. Just... silence. And when she resurfaced in early 2025, something had changed.

Her sales were noticeably lower, her agency appeared less supportive, and her desire to work was overshadowed by something; now we know what.

If there’s one theme emerging from both Ami Tokita’s and Konan Koyoi’s departures, it’s this: C-more’s grip on talent extends deep into digital identity.

While Konan managed to escape with her name and fan accounts intact, Ami wasn’t as lucky. Despite personally appealing for the rights to her SNS, arguably the lifeline of any modern-day JAV actress, she was denied. Her only option? Erase everything and start again.

For fans, this is heartbreaking. For her fellow colleagues, it’s a warning sign.

What kind of agency refuses to let an actress keep her accounts, especially after years of loyal service? What’s happening behind closed doors at C-more that’s pushing top-tier talent to walk away, one after another? And perhaps most importantly: who’s next?

As per Ami, her farewell JAV is slated for release on August 21, 2025, and that is enough to create hype. Not just because of the content, but because fans now know it will be her final JAV to release this year.

In the meantime, the SNS accounts linked to her former current stage name will go dark. And while she rebuilds under “Ami,” her fans are likely to dig through her digital archives, trying to preserve what they can before it disappears forever.

Ami isn’t done yet, but the early signs shows an actress with a desire to reclaim her narrative. She’s turning her back on an agency that couldn’t (or wouldn’t) support her dreams, and opening herself up to something broader that allows her the creative freedom.

Whether she finds the same level of success outside of JAV remains to be seen. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned about this girl, it’s that she doesn’t give up.

And as for C-more? Two high-profile losses in such a short time doesn’t seem like a coincidence. It signals more of a red flag waving in plain sight. Something is wrong, and it’s high time before the agency goes through an internal audit.

Verify your age by

Recently a number of US states and a few countries of note have enacted age verification requirements for adult sites. On the US front at least, legal experts both within and outside of our industry do not believe any will pass a constitutional test. However, since these laws currently are on the books and thus have the ability to be enforced, we are choosing to comply with them at this point in time.

ZENRA uses (and as an aside: 99% of the time a site says they have "teamed up" with so-and-so to provide random service, it really just means that like us, they're a business customer and nothing more) Bluecheck.me, a third party verification service, to perform this important task easy to install filtering software does infinitely better.

Information used in the verification process is not stored on our servers. Phone number and address verification is instant and uses database cross referencing (no calls, no SMS messages, nothing mailed to the address). ID verification takes about one minute and is performed 'blind' on Bluecheck's side where the ID is reviewed by someone unaware of what service the submitter is attempting to access.

Regardless of what method you choose, it costs you nothing, but does increase the cost of our operations in order to somehow make the internet a 'safer' place.
