Wait… Ai Hongo made a surprise tweet on X after ages, and I can’t keep calm! Honestly, I had to look twice.

If you’ve been following our blog enough, you know that she’s kept an incredibly low profile ever since the controversy involving Twitch streamer Junichi Kato. After the duo was caught red-handed at an LA Dodgers game and the affair became viral, she announced an indefinite hiatus from JAV in September 2024 by releasing what was promoted as her retirement work, and she gradually vanished into thin air.

And since then, the S1 exclusive actress has posted nothing online and has been mostly radio silent.

Yes, for a time, she did make occasional appearances at agency-organized events, but even those dried up. Group photos stopped appearing, her X posts dried up, and before long, it almost felt as though she’d vanished altogether.

Then recently, out of nowhere, her sub account suddenly became active. Funnily enough, Ai posted a meme face of her rumored beau.

That’s all it took to make fans lose their mind!

Now, to understand why this caused such a stir, you have to look at what’s happened since the scandal.

The TWITCH streamer had announced his divorce last year and is now single. More recently, he traveled to Milan, Italy, with his football team to compete in the Kings World Cup Clubs 2026, a seven-a-side tournament. During the event, his team scored a penalty, and it was Murash FC's first victory in roughly a year and a half, and the livestream erupted with excitement.

It was at almost that exact moment… Ai Hongo suddenly posted from her sub account and pulled it down immediately. But, as always, the internet never sleeps, as some fan had already captured a screenshot before it was deleted, and within minutes, social media was flooded with speculation. It was more likely a subtle way of letting everyone know they’re still in each other’s lives.

Although Ai Hongo hasn’t said a single word publicly, that hasn’t stopped fans from connecting the dots. Many believe the two are still seeing each other, especially after Junichi previously mentioned during one of his livestreams that he still has “a regular sexual partner” and was dating “a certain VTuber.”

Naturally, people have started wondering… Was it most likely he was talking about Ai Hongo?

And, as tempting as it is to jump to conclusions, there’s simply no concrete evidence beyond a deleted post and a lot of online speculation.

I’ve also seen plenty of fans hoping this unexpected activity means Ai Hongo is preparing to make a comeback. Personally, I don’t buy it.
