Weird and Wacky JAV from SOD: Classical Art meets Porn, Tuna Market, and a Maze

Today, we will be looking into some strange, odd, and interesting JAV of yesteryear. Today’s dive into the past centers around SOD, one of the finest makers of surreal eroticism, who loves pushing the envelope. This is Weird and Wacky JAV from SOD.

Coming up first for our oddity dive is Futa Village, and the title really says it all. A whole village of naked nude women with their big dicks out. The thing about these older weird JAV titles isn’t just how weird they like to get, but the scale. They gave these videos a real budget and production to go with it. The village set and that big cast list should give you a sense of how big they wanted to paint the town. Just check out this nice sweeping aerial shot below. There’s even some attention to detail with them getting dicks in all shapes and sizes, with some of the Futa women given flaccid dicks to show that not all of them are flying full mast at times.

Now the video itself follows mainly some students in the village as they learn to explore their bodies and start a relationship. A bit of a shame for it to be reduced to basically a school plot when the village is introduced as being bigger than that. The sex is basically lesbian sex with strap-ons that act as fake dicks, complete with jizz spraying action. The sex is pretty decent if you are into that sort of thing. There’s a nice little group scene, but the finale is probably the best of the bunch. All in all, this is an odd, surreal porno that is also funny as it is enticing, which is what we are all about today.

If the last wasn’t your jam, then do not worry because it won’t all be chicks with dicks. This next one is classy all the way, and by that, I mean classical art. I was not expecting to learn about fine art and classical paintings, but here we are. This title has actors and actresses recreating famous classical paintings such as Francisco Goya’s The Naked Maja, Sandro Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, and Édouard Manet’s The Luncheon on the Grass. Recreating the art into real life and then turning them into lewd scenes. I have to say I really liked this video. A lot of the titles we’ll see today are fun little gimmicks with fun ideas, but few are as good as a piece of actual smut. This recreation delivers with some nice sex.

Here, we get 4 scenes of art made into life with nice set design, costume work, and production. Some of the girls have to wear wigs, and it’s not too bad. Overall, the production creates faithful recreations of the original artwork’s scenes. Mostly normal sex scenes, except one is a masturbation scene with bukkakes on top, while another has two women touching and caressing the couple as they have sex. I thought every scene was good, from the set to the actresses themselves. They all gave a good show, who had nice bodies. My favorite has to be the first scene; an outdoor fuck session with one lady taking on two men one at a time. The third scene was also quite beautiful with the costumes and lighting. Most of these videos are fun oddities, but this one is actually pretty good smut while also being a fun oddity.

Speaking of high art eroticism, we head to the theater for some sexy ballet. A parody of the ballet Black Swan, and we are checking out the sequel, which is even bigger and grander than the first. SOD puts on a full show, complete with stage, lighting, set, music, male dancers, and a cast of background dancers. I would’ve loved to see how the producers sold this to their bosses. An exercise in excess that results in a surprising, affecting dance while erotic. The two leads, Sara Ogawa and Riri Omori, have done ballerina-themed JAV titles before and show off their skills and flexibility on the dance floor and in the bedroom.

The video starts with the performance proper, no buildup. The first hour is mainly dancing until we get to the sex scene, which was pretty good. Also, it takes place right on stage in the middle of the performance. No side scene in some bedroom or backstage. All the sex takes place on stage as part of the performance. I really liked that they leaned into the theater setting, and the video wasn’t played up for laughs. Is porn art a discussion some like to get into, and I don’t want to get into it, but this is one of the few cases where the porn gets artsy and the better for it. One of the more memorable titles, even today, and not for being the loudest or wildest.

The theater experience doesn’t stop there. Next, we have quite the ensemble gathered, literally. This stunt title is all about holding a nude orchestra. There are a lot of questionable choices in this video, from wanting the whole idea to the documentary behind it, to the scale of it all, but what takes the cake is the lack of sex. This is at best a softcore video with some nudity. There is another part which seems to have the sex, but to release a 2 and a half with only the second part to have sex is jarring.

The video is basically a long documentary that covers the planning, auditions, rehearsing, and finally the performance. There's quite a bit of nudity, but that’s just dressing for the preparation. I don’t know anything about orchestras or classical music; they weren’t good, but not a trainwreck. What really got me was the scale and crowd. They got them an actual auditorium and managed to pack the place with people. I don’t know if they fudged it or what, but if they managed to get a bunch of people to watch naked women to poorly play for 15 minutes then props to them.

Courtroom JAVs are quite uncommon, and I don’t know why. People love police and law procedurals, and it should make for an easy choice to parody. SOD’s law and order video takes the theme and runs with it in the best ways. We are presented with a case that involves a dirty train Chikan. The video takes a bit to get going, and the least interesting scenes are the ones taking place outside of court, but the magic happens when the case starts properly.

Both the prosecution and defense have a hands-on way of presenting their cases as we get recreations of the offenses in court for the whole gallery to see. The explosive final act and last scene take the cake, with both sides taking the stand to demonstrate their cases. Here you’ll see the defense council bend her ass over as she lets her client finger her to completion in front of the judges to argue her case.

More law and order up next, but the correctional type. We head to jail to see the day-to-day life of cum swallowing jailers whose job it is to oversee their wards with their mouths. I was surprised to see this because there is a popular Prestige series called the Ejaculation Officer that must have been inspired by this series. Both are about men being helpless to their stern female guards as they deal out sexual acts against the men. However, the women do their jobs in a mostly loveless and unaffectionate manner. It’s a really fun femdom concept that we don’t see enough of in JAV.

This short-lived series is a lot like Prestige’s, except it takes place mainly in jail. There's a lot of fun, odd scenes to like, such as the processing blowjobs. In them, a guard interviews the men while another stern-faced guard starts to jerk and suck him off. Their serious faces while doing such lewd things perfectly encapsulate the video’s whole appeal. However, the highlight scene was the dueling interrogation. Two men are sitting face to face as two female guards start to pleasure them, trying to make the men crack. If you want to see stern women pleasure men to the fullest extent of the law, then check this oldie out.

A maze, yes, a maze, they made a maze. This is something you would do when you’re younger, bored, and have too much cardboard on your hands. The makers at SOD now have the budget to make their dream maze into reality and have used it for a porno, too. The game has women trying to make it through the maze while playing different games they discover within it. Meanwhile, a small army of men clad in black is also making its way through the maze. If they catch the women, then they get to have their own fun game to play. It’s a cute little concept that’s more fun on paper than it is in practice. The maze wasn’t all that fun, nor was the sex. A swing and a miss, but a fun swing to see.

Now for a really fun role reversal. We see a lot of free use genres and body objectification of women in porn. Great themes, nothing wrong with them, and this one takes that idea and turns it on its head. We head to the “Tuna” market, where women evaluate and grade men with letter ratings. Looking for studs to see who is the highest quality of man meat.

The clients are scantily dressed sluts who enjoy only the best of the best and like testing out the wares. The men laid out like items in a shop waiting to be assessed, with the women’s favorites being taken home to play with fully. My only problem was that they could have taken the concept further, especially production-wise, as it’s a bit bare-bones. Still, it’s a really fun concept with the slutty women in charge and men being used like pieces of meat. More objectification of men in porn please.

We finish by looking at a few titles real quick. There is another nude-only title with no sex about naked basketball players. Getting 20-some girls to play basketball nude is impressive enough, but it’s the crowd that again shocks me a little. That and selling a video from a porn maker that has no sex. Then we have a Taiko drumming title with a fantastic box cover. Sadly, the video doesn’t live up to that eye-catching cover at all.
