There's always something magical about seeing the beloved slow burn that is ANY iteration of FIRST TIME LESBIANS SECRET HOT SPRINGS VACATION (RETURNS) unfold (parenthesis as even the original SD series was great!). These movies present the most distant one can trek from "lesbian porn" yet still somehow be on the same planet as "adult video". Real friends, real issues, real confessions, real romance. All self-shot, all with a vacation (albeit short one, life always calls!) theme, all keeping reality at fever pitch levels. Sex toys almost never make an appearance (important note: they do here, albeit minimally!); we know some may love them, but if the theme is about real friends coming out, how weird would it be for one to have sneakily brought along a big dildo?

The 20th iteration is a special one for two reasons. One is because of personal taste: ARISA TAKANASHI is way up my alley. Skinny, pale, just all around cute. Kind of gives off an especially naughty TSUBOMI vibe though perhaps that may be my eyes playing tricks on me (and her co-star MIU SUZAKI also is quite the looker!). The other reason is the big age gap: 21 (ARISA) vs 27 (MIU) and the fact that within the GCU this movie takes place in, the latter is already a single mother. Thus, they went in loaded with a tale to tell. Just how can two friends with such an age gap and differing life stories firstly find time for such a trip and turn it into a crazy lesbian free-for-all while shooting every moment of it?

Do things turn out as planned? Perhaps they do--OK, they obviously do or this movie would not exist. Here, the 'ice breaker' comes in the form of a game of truth-only truth or dare that predictably leads to questions about same-sex adventures. And that? To bathing--together! And that? Romance in the semi-outdoor rotenburou (traditional outside Japanese bath) leading to further explorations within the hotel room. A coming out like no other and a darn near perfect example of what has made this long-running series such a marvel to work on, to show, and to see how our users enjoy so much.
