There's a lot one can do even if one's filming location is a rather cramped van that has seen better days. It's almost ironic how many a larger JAV studio that aims for movies with drama themes (that still somehow come off as all too vanilla) opt to rent almost entire houses when fans know right away it's the same old set (c'mon, who owns a house with zero personal belongings like pictures at the very least adorning the walls?). JAV studios that opt for something smaller, more worn down, and why not, mobile, may be the ones that can stand the test of time.
A trademark of the LESBIAN NANPA WITH DIRECTOR HARUNA series is indeed that mobile filming location. It is cramped, but good golly does she make it work! And yes, 'she' as another trademark of the series is that it's an all women production. To the best of my knowledge, all we have behind that camera is HARUNA herself plus one female assistant. Otherwise, it's the actresses, amateurs, and everything in between.
This time, in the 67th (!) iteration of a series that if popular, we plan to go back ala AOYAMA and show all of including the older SD movies (remastered of course), is done slightly differently. No, there is no newhalf here. Even for the HARUNA series, that was a one-off of one-offs (though more like it would always be welcomed!). What makes today and Wednesday's double update unique compared to other entries is being blessed by HIBIKI OTSUKI in all six scenes.
The setup is simple yet somehow each scene takes the formula and changes it slightly: Japanese women presumably leaving/entering train stations are approached by HARUNA and her assistant with a really well-timed proposition: "how about a free massage? We've a great therapist who normally has a three year waiting list. Oh, we will be filming it and as for the location, it's actually in a van...". As luck would have it, all six targets accept (what are the chances?) and thus, each encounter goes from street pickup to quick interviews to stripping down for sensual full body with extra oil rubdowns that sometimes see HIBIKI OTSUKI going au naturale to use her entire body and others with a stronger CFNF element. It really does vary and that among many things is a saving grace for a scenario that could potentially become stale, but thankfully doesn't.
As some may know, Hibiyan is one of my favorite performers. How she originally decided to do JAV is anyone's guess and yes, her super early movies were not what anyone would write home about, but once going from gyaru to sable-haired, she's never let up. We've actually an earlier HARUNA movie that should be up sooner than later that features her in her not well known awkward transition period between the two eras and the difference is startling. Until then, six scenes, all with great points, almost no weaknesses, mosaic thin and at times questionably non-existent, and with Japanese amateurs who totally nail the vibe this series sets out to achieve.
