It's always interesting seeing a JAV studio take a series that has proven immensely popular and test their luck at making a spin-off. THE PRIVATE PARTS GUESSING GAME, in particular, has went to the beach though that time we still had the blessing of RIRI KOUDA acting as host in a movie still directed by the creator of the series, KAMBE TARO. This time we see ROCKET really stretch their wings by giving control to a different director and a different host. The most important thing to ask: does it hold up?
THE PRIVATE PARTS GUESSING GAME RAISE THE SKIRTS EDITION is the first title in ROCKET's epic series directed by ROUTE YAMAZAKI, another full-time ROCKET director. As of writing this, there have been three shot and we do intend to show them all (so no need to email us requests!). RAISE THE SKIRTS takes the overall concept of taboo body part identification and replaces those gigantic panels with something a bit more unique: invisible ropes that raise clothes. The bulk of this movie sees all three actresses with shirts and skirts raised so high you almost never see their faces--even during the penalty rounds. At times, this felt less ROCKET and more TOKYO ZENTAI CLUB.
It also is a very quiet movie. Sadly, that amazing rivalry element that while doesn't appear in every GUESSING GAME title, is in many, was totally absent this time. I'm not sure who to blame or if blaming is even necessary. The actresses playing milfs are all established and the production otherwise is top-notch. It may have been the director's intent or just jitters by everyone involved; after all, even the new host flubbed her very first line and sadly lacked RIRI's confidence (though she does improve tremendously by the end)
Points and them some I have to award for a zany JAV title that keeps the sex authentic. What you see is what you get. It's not staged except for the finales themselves though with ROCKET, you should already know they're going to be stretching reality to its breaking point. Group sex, sadly, is lacking. We get unusual positions and scenarios so out of the box you almost forget the traditional harem elements of previous GUESSING GAMES are lacking in RAISE THE SKIRT EDITION. Fortunately, they return in the future and today's update, just like that one by ROCKET from last month are examples of them wanting to test the waters first before putting even more money into a risky venture.
I may sound a bit letdown, but don't let that prevent you from watching and enjoying THE PRIVATE PARTS GUESSING GAME RAISE THE SKIRTS EDITION. It's a bit rough around the edges, but also features some great eye candy and breathes new life into an established JAV series. It's a stepping stone and paved the way for some even zanier challenges in future releases.
