SOD's Prettiest Employees (Part 1)

Soft on Demand (SOD), known as one of the biggest companies in the JAV industry, is quite of a business genius. Aside from making videos, they have expanded into talent management, art retail, and even night life. Last year, they re-opened the infamous "adult theme park" called SOD Land, where some of their biggest talents serve fans in the flesh.

They’re known for their creativity, not just in their video concepts, but in how they market their brand. They love blurring the line between reality and fiction. For example, from 2005 to 2010 they operated a chain of reflexology clinics called Joshi Shain Sakaba (“Salarywoman’s Watering Hole”), which also doubled as a standing bar. Staffed by employees dressed as salarywomen, the bars were modeled after their popular Joshi Shain video series.

The Joshi Shain series is one of SOD’s wildly popular lines in which the company features women presented as actual SOD employees making their debut as performers. The appeal comes from the “insider” premise, blurring authenticity and performance, and playing into the fantasy of ordinary office workers stepping into the spotlight.

The series' appeal lies in its believability. After all, the real SOD company have many women in their workforce. According to their own wiki, they had 128 employees (27 male and 101 female) in 2008. The ratio obviously leans more towards the females. This is why when they say that they are debuting a former SOD employee, it is quite easy to believe them. So far, they have released dozens of these kinds of videos.

In this series of articles, we’ll be looking at some of the best actresses who were marketed as “SOD employees.”

This is the story in Akari Matsunaga's debut, and in most Joshi Shain videos. But unlike other actresses in the genre, Akari-chan did the majority of her videos in SOD employee uniform.

In SJDS-309, we see her get fucked by Taku Yoshimura in blazers and pants.

The camera work in both SDJS-304 and SDJS-309, her second work, is phenomenal. Shot in crisp, "The Office"-esque style, we follow the action as Akari gets banged in all corners of the SOD office. Establishing shots were also used to help the viewer get a good grasp of the location.

After a pretty normal debut, she tries some harder stuff in SDJS-092. Still set in the office, Rin-chan experiences some monstrous fucking from JAV's most ferocious actors. Meanwhile, she gets her first (obviously fake) creampie in SDJS-105. Now set in a darkly-lit hotel room, this video is pretty standard and frankly boring, but at least we see Rin-chan get bred for the first time.

However, in SDJS-108, Rin-chan stepped up her game. Still in her SOD employee, she took on more hardcore plays. Now set in an onsen during a company trip, Rin-chan relents to her senpais’ demands and agrees to eat ass, get tied up, and creampied by men who are as old as her grandpa. SDJS-108 is intense and fast-paced, and it marks Rin-chan’s first video where she crosses the line from vanilla to hardcore.

After her SOD employee stint, Rin-chan has since flitted from studio to studio. She was even featured in IE Energy’s popular series, “20 Creampie Barrage”, where she gets roughed up by some of the most brutal actors in the industry (EISP 682). As a hardcore fan, I also enjoyed her work in GUN-868 and GVH-811 where she gets mouth-fucked and subjected to the most insane contraptions. Perhaps for nostalgia purposes, she also returned to SOD a couple of times, reprising her role as SOD employee in SDJS-151, SDJS-165, and SDJS-169. In this trilogy of works, she is now a senior employee tasked with training new employees, developing hookup apps, and entertaining her bosses. Watching these newer videos, it’s amusing to see SOD continuing her character storyline.

Her debut is SDJS-189 in 2023, where the boyish lady was introduced as a black-belter in karate and also a teacher in calligraphy. Not only athletic and smart, this lady is also a horny slut. In her final scene with Taku, she tries her best to reciprocate the actor's nasty performance.

Meanwhile, in her second video, SDJA-193, she takes on the task to test SOD' s new products for "masturbation development research." However, she got the attention of many when she made START-417 which became some sort of a ‘reunion’ work for some of JAV’s MOST HANDSOME actors. In SDJS-180, SOD does their best to portray Mai as a genuine SOD employee. In the intro, we see her in her everyday working life, collaborating with teammates, yawning in exhaustion, and enjoying the after-hours with coworkers. Action is pretty chill in this debut, but it is enough to appreciate Mai’s youthful looks and very positive aura.

She continued to do some pretty vanilla works such as SDJS-198 and SDJS-202. Now, while I think that Mai-chan as cute as a bunny, I find her performance in these works a bit lacking. Not sure what it is exactly, but the action doesn’t feel erotic at all.

However, the exact opposite is true in Mai’s performance in BBAN-472. In this lesbian video with Ai Nonose, Mai-chan is a total monster. She is very active, and she initiates the dirty action. She gobbles Mai-chan's tongue, licks her toes, and charges the whole scene with heat and passion. I have the feeling that Mai-chan leans more towards the girls than the boys. Regardless, it is nice to see her act with more animality after her previous tame performances.

Unfortunately, her career didn’t catch on as expected, and she proceeded to do some low-budget videos with random studios. Surprisingly, she appeared in an all-star video by Kawaii, CAWD-689, wherein she appeared with Mei Satsuki, Hikari Minazuki, Ena Satsuki, and some other bigger names. This tells you that she really has potential. Maybe she could do better with more lesbian themes, or with videos where she can play a more dominant role. There is still a lot of things to expect for this SOD employee.
