FANZA JAV Rankings 2025: First Half

It’s that time of year again, JAV fans, as FANZA unveiled their rankings and charts for the top actresses and videos for 2025 so far. Below are the top names and videos in JAV for the first half of 2025. Make faces of shock if your favorites aren’t on the list, or pat yourself on the back when other people also like your favorites.

Now these videos reflect FANZA itself, which is made up largely of a domestic Japanese audience. Sure, foreigners such as this writer might use it, but the rankings and charts largely speak of the tastes of the general public within Japan. Now this is also only for the first half of the year, and some actresses get boosts from certain videos and might drop off later on, and others might rise and return to their batting average.

Without further ado, this is FANZA’s Actress Rankings for the first half of 2025 and the Top 25 Videos.

Number 1

If you’ve been following the news or charts, then this is no surprise. Kanna Seto has taken the JAV world by storm, dethroning Saika Kawakita for the top spot. She has dominated the monthly sales charts. What can we say about Kanna that is making the world go gaga for her? Facially, she’s cute and has a nice overall figure. Her performance is just okay, nothing special. Now those tits of hers are definitely world-class, my goodness, that chest.

She’s a great debut, but the attention she’s getting is wild. She was a big hit at TRE (Taipei Red Expo) and seemed very in her element as a public figure, looking unlike most rookies new to the spotlight. Whatever the secret is to Kanna’s success, she’s got the IT factor and is looking like the next number 1 in the JAV world right now.

Top 10

The GP (general public) might be interested in their shiny new toy, but Saika Kawakita is still a proven winner. Four years into her comeback, and she looks as fine and confident as ever on screen. Her star is shining brighter than ever; however, that growing popularity has some of her fans worried. Saika’s interests have expanded outside of JAV, getting into acting and singing (as Moena). Porn isn’t a lifelong career for most, and if Saika has her exit planned, I wouldn’t be surprised. The ball is in her court, and she’s open to do whatever she wants. I will say her song “Zutto Ishho ni Itai” is honestly lovely.

Third is a surprise with Miyu Kiyohara. When I first reviewed her, I thought she would be a big crowd pleaser with that cute face and that big chest. Still, third is a mild shock. Speaking of cute faces and big busts, we have Yuu Tano at fourth. Not just a pretty face and body, Yuu also has a great attitude and personality that make her well-suited for the public-facing part of the job. At fifth is Kiho Kanematsu, who has been overshadowed a bit by her more popular juniors. A former idol and Gravure model, Kiho has all the makings of a popular AV actress, but she’s not just banking on name recognition. Kiho’s got an incredibly fit and fine body and can play in the bedroom. She’s a legit porn actress and not coasting on her name.

Leaving Team Freelancer was Waka Misono, but her rankings haven't taken a hit just yet with her sixth-place spot. She’s worked hard to get it up that high, and it’s well deserved. Mio Ishikawa continues to be Moodyz’s Golden Girl and a true exclusive at seventh. Finishing her first year is Moe Sakakibara, who places 10^th.

Cold Exclusives, Hot Freelancers

Some actresses start with big studios but never find success until they leave the nest. Like number 8 Miyu Aizawa, who was with S1 before turning into a red hot freelancer. Miyu’s got a terrific body with her ample tits and big, firm booty. She has become far better off as a freelancer. The same is true for Karin Kitaoka and Ruisa Totsuki, both formerly with IP and now numbers 15 and 28 as freelancers. The highest IP actresses are Rie Aise at 53, Momo Sakura at 69, and Karen Kaede at 81. I want to say they didn’t know what they had on their hands, but I don’t think they would’ve truly shone as nailed down as exclusive.

Nanami Kodama Drama-rama

Nanami Kodama had a crash-out recently when she publicly complained about her contract negotiations. Feeling that she should be paid far more than what she was getting, and even chastising pirates for watching her videos for free. Now you might think, “Okay, well that’s what happens when you aren’t popular enough,” but the thing is, Nanami was actually number 9 this year.

So, she definitely has interest in her. And to add to the drama, the magazine chose to remove Nanami’s profile spot and instead turned her into a tiny footnote. She’s not even in the description page for the magazine and is conspicuously removed. The conspiracy theorist in me says it’s DMM working with the agency to punish dissent. Either way, there’s something going on with Nanami behind the scenes.

Hanging in There

Some names are reliable year in and year out, the rock-solid actresses who continue to sustain their popularity. Actresses like Julia, at 44, who has been consistently in not just the Top 100 lists but the Top 50 for most of her 15 years in JAV and counting. Airi Kijima closes out her steady career at 71. She had been touring different studios as she headed into her final film. Meanwhile, Marina Shiraishi continues to stay in the public’s mind at 89, and Tsumugi Akari continues to transition into a seasoned actress nicely at 85.

Big Drops

Every year, we see drops in the list as some actresses ease up or interest wanes for whatever reason. Some drops are small, like with Ichika Matsumoto, which was expected as she became an exclusive. Funny enough, her bestie and fellow petite actress, Sumire Kuramoto, isn’t far off behind as usual. She also became a contracted actress and is almost always near Ichika’s rank. Kana Morisawa’s late-stage career boost seems to have finally passed its peak as she dips down to nearly 30^th. Karen Yuzuriha also fell all the way down to 47. The double exclusive star usually ranks high, but perhaps her weight loss has turned off fans. The duo of Ibuki Aoi and Nozomi Ishihara also saw a joint drop. Now I can’t explain it, but Hinako Mori dropped down all the way into the 90s.

Not on the List

Not everyone gets to make it to the Top 100; it’s not as easy as it seems. There are hundreds of career actresses as well as hundreds of new names coming in for people’s attention. Some omissions are understandable, like with Ai Mukai, AIKA, Uta Hibino, Kana Momonogi, or Non Ohana. Meanwhile, it’s a bit of a head scratcher not seeing names like Meguri, Honoka Furukawa, Rena Miyashita, or Hana Himesaki on the list.

Not a surprise is Tsukasa Aoi’s absence, as she’s been gone for a minute. It’s a bit unfortunate to see a legend like her with over a decade in the business to retire so quickly and quietly. Also deserving of her flowers is Kana Yume, aka Jun Mizukawa, who doesn’t appear on the list. Kana is another long timer who retires this year, and I don’t think she got her due. Kana’s an actress who puts her honest-to-goodness heart in all of her performances. She doesn’t slack off and bows out after a great return to her freelancing ways.

S1 Supremacy and the Rest

Of all the studios, of course, S1 stands above them all. Clocking in about 28 names under their roster within the Top 100. MOODYZ comes in second with 12, Madonna follows with 11, and Idea Pocket and Das chip in with 5 and 3. They are the big game in town for a reason, but it’s competitive within the top studio. Madonna is a small surprise as their massive roster usually works with strength in numbers. However, it seems their expansion is highlighting more individual talent to the forefront. Proving that Milfs are as popular as ever in porn.

Poor IP

Meanwhile, Idea Pocket’s poor performance as a studio has never been more apparent. They are supposed to be known for their high-level stars, but they have done a terrible job at building up talent in recent years. Disaster class building if big names like Momo Sakura or Karen Kaede leave. Their star Kana Momonogi not being on this list is indicative of her and them as a whole. They just stopped trying at some point. IP is currently trying to hype up some debuts to close out the year, so we’ll see if this is a course correction.

SOD and Prestige Conundrum

As always, it’s hard to measure the popularity of stars from rival platforms like SOD and Prestige. Despite doing well in the monthly rankings recently, few SOD stars made it onto the Top 100. Missing on the list are notably Rei Kamiki, Minamo, and Mana Sakura. While there isn’t a peep by Prestige with either Remu Suzumori, Airi Suzumura, or Shizuha Takimoto. They are FANZA’s competition, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some shenanigans to give priority listing to their talent instead.

Don’t be discouraged if your favorites aren’t high enough on the list for your liking, or not on it at all. After all, this just measures their popularity and not their quality. Still, it’s fun to see who is hot on the streets, and maybe one name might find themselves on your watch list. Til the next rankings.
