The Finale of Innocence with Chihaya-Chan

Chihaya Now a Schoolgirl in Name Only

The Finale of Innocence with Chihaya-Chan
with English Subtitles

No matter how popular other genres of Japanese AV may be, none triumph over the 'innocent schoolgirl' trope.  Yes, at times you may see extreme ebbs and flows where something unthinkable triumphs over 'malleable innocence', but it rarely lasts.  What does though, is youth and a curious mindset when it comes to sex.

This is where we find CHIHAYA-chan (last name not given) in a relatively simple release by GUTS.  If you've seen other titles in the same series such as this one and the one featuring AV legend CHIHIRO HASEGAWA, then you should have a general idea of what to expect.

THE FINALE OF INNOCENCE, our defiled schoolgirl update for today sadly does not bring anything new to the table.  That by itself isn't necessarily a bad thing; after all, we don't expect all AV releases to be trendsetters.  That'd be asking too much!

It should be said now though that THE FINALE OF INNOCENCE is as far from a 'talkie' as one can get.  It's a title that has only a few dozen lines of dialog and otherwise remains mostly quiet for its ninety-plus minutes.  We generally prefer not to show titles that feature such little dialog and do ensure at least our Exclusive updates remain a bit more work-intensive when it comes to preparing them for you, but since we licensed out GUTS' entire library (almost) sight unseen, a few titles such as this one slipped between the cracks.

The actress playing CHIHAYA nailed the innocent role perfectly which makes sense considering at the time of filming she really was only a year or two outside of her high school graduation.  We notice many a time in the west at least that actresses who seem to be pushing thirty are given pigtails in order to push the 'young' stereotype.  Japan seems to have a greater talent pool of truly younger women making these types of titles much more believable.

We're going to end this review a bit short as this is definitely a title one can quickly take a gander at to the left before easily making the call on its watchability.  We don't think THE FINALE OF INNOCENCE is a title that deserves preservation in whatever the JAV-equivalent of the Library of Congress database and admittedly it's probably not even the best title in the series it's from.  Still, it's not a bad release, although quiet.  It's just another twisted look at one way you can easily defile someone's innocence.
